What if you went to turn on the television Saturday morning to watch cartoons and they were silent and black and white? Most people just take it for granted. Producing animations with movement and color took time. Walt Disney took the time to figure it all out (Langer). Walt Disney, an influential person in the twentieth century, has influenced technology, education, and entertainment in America.
Walt Disney influenced technology. Without Walt we would not be as advanced into technology as we are. His first animation creation was The Alice Comedies with the company, Laugh-O-Grams. The Alice Comedies did not end up very well and ended up causing the company to go bankrupt. Most people who did not know him thought he was a failure and would give up, nut that was the complete opposite. After his first downfall he partnered with his brother, Roy. Walt and Roy set up in their uncle’s garage and got back to work together. They produced Alice in Cartoonland which was similar to the story line of Walt’s early cartoon called The Alice Comedies. With Alice in Cartoonland Walt and Roy were finally noticed by an agency in New York. Next, Walt created an animated drawing of a human-like mouse named Mickey Mouse. Mickey Mouse was debuted on Steamboat Willie. Steamboat Willie was the world’s first synchronized sound cartoon. Cartoons at this time were just usually animation with no sound, but Walt introduced something entirely new with synchronized sound and animations. Steamboat Willie was Walt’s first big hit. Steamboat Willie was publicized on November 18, 1928 at Colony Theater in New York. Hundreds of people came to see it. After Walt’s first big hit he soon was publicly ...

Back in the roaring twenties America was seeing such world-changing phenomenons such as The Great Gatsby, and penicillin, but what took the world by surprise was none other than Walt Disney and his lovable creation, Mickey Mouse. Walt Disney, throughout his entire lifetime and career, always had an idea, a spark, and a way to make things better. Even in the face of tough times, he never failed to keep his optimistic attitude and kind faith in humanity from infecting those around him. A major part of his success was due to the technological innovations that revolutionized the film industry.
Walt Disney created the American fantasy from thoughts pulled out of the far reaches of his imagination. He was a man who had never let go of his inner child. By simply reaching for that inner child he created every child's dream in the form of a simple talking mouse. That mouse became his trademark. Mickey was a trade mark to be used to his advantage though. With his fame and money gained from Mickey he could go on to do heroic things like build schools, work to aid his country during war, build family friendly theme parks, and make unforgettable movies. Walt Disney once said "The way to get started is to quit talking and start doing(ww2.netnitco.net Walt Disney's Great Quotes)." That is exactly what Disney has done and what all Americans should strive to do. Throughout his life Disney taught the world that "It's kind of fun to do the impossible(ww2.netnitco.net Walt Disney's Great Quotes)." If all of America strove to do the impossible everyday then every American would soon fit in beside Walt Disney under the category of an American hero.
While most just think of Walt Disney as the creator of the Disney movie empire and the Disney theme parks, those such as author Steven Watts, who think more deeply about Disney, consider him to be the “influential architect of modern America” (Watts, p. 4). While the genius of Walt Disney has affected many aspects of American, and now overseas, cultures, his empire has had a significant impact on what people experience during childhood.
As a young child Disney had many interests mainly in the arts. He went from drawing to animation to acting. He kept learning new things and ended up being very successful when he combined all three of those things. He had people not like his stuff, steal his films, and had the majority of his workers protest and quit. All of these things would of been good reasons for him to stop, but of course Disney did not for he was obsessed with being the best. The reason he started doing his animation was to make people laugh and enjoy themselves. Even during The Great Depression he succeeded in making people enjoy themselves once in awhile. He was looked up to and loved by many. Walt Disney was truly an amazing man, he transformed the world in a way nobody else could and for that we thank you Walter Elias Disney, rest in

He took bold actions like creating new methods of animation and brilliant new characters such as Oswald, Mickey and so many other characters. Now I bet you're wondering why did you do this project on him and did he inspire you in anyway, and if so how? Well, I answer to both of those questions for you. Well, I did the project on him because there's so many things that I wanted to learn about him and because I wanted to do somebody who did something artistic and yes, he did inspire me because when I learned how much ups and downs he had to go and how he still didn’t give up and was able to make the first movie with sound and color, now I know that if something is hard, just keep pushing and you'll make it, if you try. So why do I need to know about him, well you need to know about him because he was the one that created movies with sound, and I bet half of the movies in your house wouldn't be there if it wasn't for Walt
His early struggles and determination created the path for him to build the Disney empire and legacy to live on long after his death.
