It seems to be an outstanding problem faced in today’s society, there is always talk about a new red herring, a new issue being fabricated with coincidences and irrelevant statistics disguised as genuine information. Ultimately, the information being spread concerning the wage difference between men and women is very misleading and severely misunderstood. A deeper understanding of certain contributing factors and laws show that a distinct widespread wage gap conspiracy where women make less than men for the same job is not only inaccurate but there is evidence suggesting the opposite in special circumstances. A wage gap has to exist, it is impossible for everyone to make the same amount of money, however the gap being advertised is outdated, and since the implication of equal pay laws the gap has nearly closed to where most the difference can be accounted for due to; A woman’s role in parenthood and maternity, the pay rate of jobs women are generally swayed into by society to perform, and natural trends based on the average woman’s personal decisions.
In a report by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the most accurate wage gap for single women before marriage and children is $0.96 on the dollar for comparable professions. This is a negligible difference that doesn’t support the conspiracy so many radical feminists flaunt concerning a world where women are oppressed. On the other side of the spectrum, when women are put into the role of motherhood their work experience becomes halted as they struggle to nurture their child. This is where the statistic becomes misunderstood. Often times if a mother happens to return to work she must choose a job with great flexibility, and because not all jobs are flexible women tend to find themselves...

...t always have, however some have inflated statistics to appear like there is a conspiracy, this is severely damaging to our society and there are many actions that can be taken to further prosper our society to be fully accepting and non-discriminatory. Yes, it is possible for an employer to pay an individual less, however that is an isolated, illegal situation and makes the employee a victim entitled to compensation. By exercising rights as Americans, females who feel victimized can actually make a difference in the workplace and prevent companies from bullying a group that would rather protest for higher wages for all women than equal wages for those discriminated, the wage gap as it is advertised is a myth, however discrimination between both men and women does subtly exist in some instances, and it is this discrimination that needs to be dealt with as a society.
