Volunteering for me is a pleasure to help out for the community. I have volunteered sine I was in high school for many different programs. After graduating from high school, I am focusing more on volunteering with the academic aspect which involves helping children to be able to build up logical thinking skills, problem-solving skills, and to be responsible.
I have volunteered at the Minnesota Children’s Museum after I graduated from high school. My role in this program was playologist, which means playing and helping kids from kindergarten to fifth grade to understand the implements and the incipient information. These things will give them great benefits on their learning skills. In addition, experimenting new things may put a big impact on their development and problem solving skills. I once played with a six-year-old boy who left a good memory for me. We were building a bridge in our world area, and he told me that he wanted to be an engineer in the future. He showed me an example of his own designing of a bridge by using blocks and things that were available around. I let him acted as a boss, and I followed his order. After the bridge was completed, I was so astonished by how it looked, but more than that was the smiling achievement on the boy’s face, which was bright and shine as the sun outside, and I was so happy. I learned many things from working with kids at the young age at the Minnesota Children’s Museum. First thing is the communication skill. Smiling is the most important expression I always gave out to show people that I cared about them. Also, smiling made the connection between me and people around became closer and faster.
