The idea of virtual public homeschooling is quickly becoming a strong concept primary within our society. Lobbyist all over America are fighting for these schools and there right to equal funding from the government. Most people are not aware that the schools that they are fighting for are free. These schools have many benefits like providing a safe environment for students who are bullied, providing alternative learning environments for students who have intellectual disabilities, or allowing students who live with chronic illnesses to not fall behind in their academics. Currently in the state of Alabama virtual public schooling is only offered to kindergarten through second grade students, but over the next year law makers are working to increase the educational funding so that virtual public schools will be offered to students in kindergarten through the twelfth grade. They do not require a physical building, so the cost is less because they have no facilities to take care of. The only cost of the virtual schools would be for the curriculum and the teachers who design it, the technology analysts that would build the website, and an administrator or two. Not only would the financial obligations be much more less than a traditional brick and mortar school, it would also serve more types of students. The establishment of a strong curriculum provides a stress reliever for families, and ensures them that their child is receiving a quality education that will prepare them for standardize testing as well as secondary education (college, etc.) Also, student who chose to attend homeschools will be taught by certified public school teachers instead of having class administered by a parent or computer program.
