Based on all the factual evidence above, there is no proven relationships between violent video games causing violent crimes in children and teens. Although there is not a direct relationship, kids that have the associated risk factors that lead to violent behaviors many be more susceptible to getting lost in the online world on violent video games. The people that commit crimes like mass shootings, children to adults, are not sane according to Jonathan M. Matzel, MD, PhD. 18.2% of the United States population have a mental illness and only 3%-5% of violent acts can be attributed to individuals living with a serious mental illness (Bekiempis). So what makes these children commit these vicious crimes?
