The rate of violence has tremendously increased in America for the past decade. I know many people will not agree with this statement, but it is the truth of the matter. It is high time both the government and the public focused their attention on this issue. Acts of violence often accompany other common crimes not only in America, but also other parts of the globe. Research shows that the normal occurrence of crime defines the modern American lifestyles. Additionally, it determines the way we relate with each other. It affects the aspects of intimate relationships and environments such as schools and places of work. Statistics show that violent crimes increased spontaneously from 1960 up to 1975. The percentage increase hit a shocking 232 percent. The majority of violent crimes committed at that particular time consisted of murder cases (Knowles 88).
Since the 1970s, violence increased by taking different forms of crime; for example, in 1980s and 1990s, several shooting instances occurred across the nation. The incidents include the school shootings in Oregon, Arkansas, Colorado, ...
