Renaissance Person
During my life I have met several people that have many talents. Although some of the things people I know are good at might not be considered genius, I still consider the abilities they possess very valuable. I have lived in three towns for the majority of my life which I was social able. The one person I feel that stands out the most is my good friend Rory Wayne MacLearn.
I didn’t realize the talent he had in several things until I started to hang out with him on a regular basis. Everything we would do from playing sports such as golf to baseball, basketball or football to playing video games, the kid had pure talent. As good as he was at sports, that didn’t even touch his talent in music. He played the trombone in band and sat first chair as a sophomore in high school. Being a good trombone player was good enough to satisfy him in the music part of his talent, and indeed it didn’t. He also sang for the choir and danced and performed in show choir. Show choir is for the musicians that are above the rest with more talent and can dance and sing at the same time. He was in the front row and was given a solo to sing during the performance each year of his high school career. He was in a group of 5 singers called the sidewalk 5. He received all A’s and B’s in school and had a GPA of 3.59 which is very impressive for all the extracurricular activities Rory was involved in.
Now days Rory is playing golf for college down in Glendale on a scholarship for Glendale Community College and will be transferring to either Louisiana State University or the University of Iowa to further his golf career.
The characteristic society needs to produce a renaissance person is that the society needs free will to allow the person to be different and stand out. Also the society needs to be creative to allow a person options to explore and bring out the talent within. Individualism is another thing a society needs. Individualism allows the individual to not be constrained by government interventions or made subordinate to collective interests. If the talent of a person can not be pursued to its fullest potential because of regulations against them from the law or politics then no one will ever stand out.
Many employees when looking for a job or deciding whether to stay with their current employment often considers the employee benefits the company offers.
Determine how innovations in employee benefits can improve the overall competitive compensation strategy of the organization.
The term “renaissance man” describes an individual who excels in numerous areas and can do many things extremely well. Today, this description lends itself to both men and women who are both scholars and athletes, creative and industrious, and generally highly successful in all they do. While many modern “renaissance individuals” go quietly about their lives being exceptional yet unnoticed, the first renaissance man, Leonardo Da Vinci, made quite a stir and caught the attention and imagination of the fifteenth century world. In his own time, Da Vinci was a renowned artist, scientist and inventor who was celebrated by thinkers, artists and kings alike. And although he lived and worked more than six-hundred years ago, Da Vinci’s artistic and scientific genius continue to inspire and amaze.
A company cannot be successful without the support from the employees. Therefore, there is a need to maintain a good moral workforce and provide different benefits to the employees. Benefit programs are essential and critical for employees especially when social security insurance does not cover short-term disability that results from a job-related accident. There are a lot of jobs with high risk where employees can get injured such as roofers, painters and electricians (Snell, Morris, & Bohlander, 2016, p.431). Employees might not feel safe or comfortable if their insurance does not cover their short-term disability. It is very important to pay close attention to those employees since there is so much at stake with with the possibility
The Renaissance is known for its spectacular art. The Renaissance marks the period of European history at the close of the Middle Ages and the rise of the modern world. It literally means rebirth, and it was just that: a cultural rebirth into a new era. People of the Renaissance began to focus less on simply surviving, and more on intellect and creativity: including art, science and technology. Theatrical productions were no longer solely church material; they became comedic, with more risqué stories of love and even magic. Beautiful, ornate churches, statues and other structures were being built and the middle and higher classes of Europe were enjoying wealth and luxury. Renaissance men and women were emerging: people like Leonardo Da Vinci, who was a painter, mathematician, engineer, and inventor. A “Renaissance Man” is someone who is talented in multiple areas of the arts: perhaps music, painting, poetry or sculpting.
The arts during the Renaissance was a movement of self-expression in different forms of art and using many different medians. The arts affected this idea of great potential in human beings. They caused people to start to look at an individual in a different way and many became more focused on themselves and the natural world. Humanism did just that and changed the interests of the average person and artists and writers began to focus their works on the man. Instead of creating
The American Renaissance was the rebirth of culture and literature during the 1800’s. It was a time where people felt the need to depend on themselves rather than a higher figure. The Renaissance was similar to rationalist period because people wanted to perfect their moral goodness. People of this time wanted to improve their life by achieving upward mobility. Slaves who escaped and became free were an example of upward mobility during the Renaissance. People started to work towards their American Dream by starting school at an early age. The Renaissance was an age of individualism. People relied on themselves and focused on discovering who they truly were as individuals. Many famous writers used the dreams of the citizens during this era to influence their work. Thoreau and Emerson were two popular writers. They emphasized the American Dream of the Renaissance time. The American Renaissance revolved around the dream of upward mobility through education and self-improvement; their literature reflects their aspirations to become a better society.
The succeeding paragraphs will explain how innovations in employee benefits can improve the overall competitive compensation strategy of the organization. In order to maintain their competitive edge, companies need to fully understand that as the needs of their employee’s change, so does their benefit plans. Companies need to find innovative ways of engaging employees that encourage and support their commitment and improve their performance.
Through the transition from the Middle Ages to the Renaissance, as well as political literature and diplomatic advancements, the Renaissance significantly influenced modern politics. This has been proven through the conversion evidences of Charles VII and Louis XI, The Prince and Discourses on Livy by Machiavelli, and the diplomatic developments made by Machivelli and Henry VII. In the end, despite the era being only three hundred years and happening several centuries ago, the Renaissance was a key point in the modern world’s political history.
The Renaissance, was an amazing cultural movement and the break from the Middle Ages affected every aspect of life. It is often known as the first transition from medieval to modern. The Middle Ages was a time where the church ruled the daily lives of people, and where land was of utmost importance. While events such as plagues and invasion triggered the shift from Middle Ages to Renaissance, the fundamental differences in philosophy such as humanism, secularism, and classicism defined the era, brought back from the Greeks and Romans. Many important aspects of society were thus largely influenced and changed with the new time period.

There has been a large amount of attention paid to the subject of entrepreneurship in the last few years; mainly because most people have chosen to go from working for somebody else, to be their own bosses and work for their dreams. Nevertheless, many still wonder what is entrepreneurship and what is that sets entrepreneurs apart from other regular business owners. At first, it seems both concepts do not differ much from each other since they both start up and run businesses and assume risks to pursue opportunities; however, there are certain traits that difference them.
The success of a business is greatly dependent on its entrepreneur. An entrepreneur is someone who takes the financial risk of starting and managing a new business venture. In order to be a successful entrepreneur, one must be ready to take a risk and invest one’s own savings into a business. The job requires that the individual be ambitious and committed to working hard in order to achieve the set targets. A successful entrepreneur is able to multi-task and communicates effectively with people, possessing leadership qualities such as confidence and motivation. The individual must play the role of constant motivator and inspire employees to improve their work performance, whilst ensuring a comfortable environment for the employees to work in. According to Schumpeter (1982), an entrepreneur is more of a ‘heroic’ than an ‘economic’ figure; his motivation should not solely be monetary, rather stemming more from inspiration and ambition.
