When you compare Macs and PCs side by side, you can easily distinguish which is which. First, Apple computers are becoming more compact in size. Their new system designs include the display (monitor) integrated with the rest of the computer. The Apple’s iMac is a good example of how compact their systems are becoming. The PC on the other hand, is laid out in separate components such as the display and speakers that you plug into the desktop. Second, Apple computers have a more contemporary look. This has proven to be a great marketing and selling strategy. This new distinctive look makes the computer more appealing to the customer. Macs came out with a variety of translucent colors such as green, blue, and orange. New Apple products are coming out with very clean-looking all white models. PCs, on the other hand, are usually sold in grey or black colors, depending upon the company you buy from. I think Apple intended to make their design more like an appliance, rather than a computer, which looks user friendly and consumer appealing. Third, Apple’s design makes it easy to set up, meaning that you don’t need to connect many cords to operate the system. Easy Set up is a big plus when it comes to buying a computer. Macs have a reputation for being more expensive, especially when they have a new product out on the market, but this isn’t necessarily the case. PCs, however, have increased in price as the technology increases. The prices drop as the model gets older and/or when a newer model comes out. The price of Macs’ OS X is two-hundred dollars less than the PCs’ Windows XP Home. On the other hand, buying games and other application for Macs can be a bit costly for consumers. The price of the computer depends a lot on what you want to be able to do on the system. I know a couple of people who have custom made their own computer to their specifications. Some say it is less expensive to custom make your own computer and others say it will cost more. All depends on how many things you want it to be able to do. He wants mac, she wants mac, everyone wants mac. What is so special about it? What Steve Jobs changed was people’s thinking. Everyone thought that every computer can function the same or at least similarly. But NO! It was an amusement that in literally one millisecond, you could have your computer opened already doing your work. To be honest, mac has many disadvantages. You have to pay for apps, games don’t function as well as other computers, but what mac means to me is making all the disadvantageous, to an advantage. It was so simple for Jobs. Apple Inc. is one of the leading companies in the technology industry. In 1976, Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak founded the company. In 1976, they launch their first product, the Apple I, which was a basic personal computer. The product had good customer acceptance. Then, based in the Apple I, the company developed a new product, the Apple II. The new product had some extra technical features including a stylish design, that made it better that the first one and it was consider an innovative product. This innovative computer had more acceptance by the customers, but mainly in the educational field. In 1990, Apple continued developing new technologies and products that made the company the most profitable PC manufacturer in the world (HILL and JONES, 2008).
Up to this time, computers were used mostly for large corporations and scientific use. Their vision was to create a ready-to-use computer for personal use. Only about 200 Apple I’s were sold, but when the follow on Apple II came along in the year 1977, consumers latched on and the product sold in the millions. With the Apple II, Jobs and Wozniak changed the way humans view computers. They were the first to show the world that computers could be a consumer item, and with this, the rise in digital consumption really started to take off. In 1984, Apple introduced the first Macintosh – the first mouse driven computer with a graphic interface. Not only was the Macintosh a technological advancement, but at 2500 dollars, it was the cheapest consumer option by far. This shows that at the beginning years of Apple, they were not a company that pushed for overhyped consumption of their products. Their purpose was to supply the average consumer with a groundbreaking product at a price they could afford. Furthermore, in the 1980’s, America had just begun an era of mass consumption. The debate between whether to buy Macintosh or buy a PC has been ongoing since Microsoft first introduced Microsoft Windows in November 1984. Apple Macintosh had developed its first personal computer, mouse and graphical user interface (GUI) in January of 1984. The debate has grown and has been the subject of many articles and even is the main high light of various websites. This frequently heated debate has even been compared to the Pepsi vs. Coke debate (Derene, 2009). While the rhetoric has continued the differences between these products has actually lessened, making it possible for some applications to be shared. Even the mechanics of the machines has become similar. Both use Intel processors, and both obtain many of their parts from the same supply companies. The operating systems of Windows Vista and Mac OSX Leopard are very similar when comparing multimedia, Internet and applications (Derene, 2009).
The next decade brought the increase of Apple’s brand following and fame to the organization. In 1991, Apple’s PowerBook gave the concept of more portable computer that was a new idea in computers in general. Then in the late 90s, the company started making other electronics except computers. These other products included digital computers, cameras, speakers and other products tat did not gain much recognition among the public (Sohail, 2010). This marked a decline in Apple, which was about to turn around.

Century. Most of healthcare institutions in Africa still depend on physical documentation, written by hand and afterword’s stored in binders locked away in storing facilities. With the growing populace in Africa, gathering information concerning patients health documents is costly, hard to maintain, and unethical. Therefore, in this case scenario I’m going to target my research, in developing countries in Africa in general, who are striving to improve ideal management information system. The goal is to aim efforts to improve public health through enhanced supervision through healthcare information, such the ability to collect, store and analyze accurate health data, service transfer proficiency, improve data accuracy, value of involvement, increase accountability and to learn about trends. The objective of this information system is to record information on health events and check the quality of services at different stages of health care. The data collected will also help to notify forthcoming healthcare policy determinations.
