Battle of the Bulge - A World War 2 Battle
The World War Two was a very severe war. There were many battles that were fought during it. One of the biggest land battles was Battle of the Bulge. (http://helios.) The battle took place on December 16, 1944 under cover a very dense fog which was very difficult for the army to see. (Danzer et. al. 744) These conditions are hard to see in but to stage of the biggest land battle in the history of World War Two, it was truly an astounding event and a very tragic memory.
The battle was fought in a heavily forested Ardennes region of eastern Belgium and northern Luxembourg (http://www.mm.) The fact that the battle was fought in a heavy forested area, with the conditions of the fog made the battle more dangerous, because the sight was poor and there was no clue where the opposite army was hidden.
The Battle of the Bulge was a very vicious battle that had taken place. The battle included 600,000 Germans, 500,000 Americans and 55,000 British. (http://helios.) More than one million of the worlds' men fought in this battle. It claimed 100,000 German casualties, killed wounded or captured, 81,000 American casualties, including 23,554 captured and 19,000 killed, 1,400 British casualties and 200 killed. (http://www.mm.) This was a massive amount of people to be killed in one horrible battle in the world's history. The Germans led by Hitler went westward, they captured 120 American GI's near Malmedy, they herded the prisoners into a field and shot them with machine guns and pistols. (Danzer et. al. 744) This was a very vicious thing that the Germans had done to the US GI's.
The American troops led by Brigadier General Anthony McAuliffe led the troops to Bastogne, a city of Belgium, were badly surrounded and our numbered by the Germans, that is were the American troops were demanded to surrender. (Danzer et. al. 744). In the end there were 800 tanks lost on each side, and 1,000 German aircraft lost as well. (http://www.mm.) This was a lot of machinery to have lost Hitler could not replace all the things he lost, so he had nothing left to do but to retreat.
The way the battle had ended had the feeling of it being unfinished. The allies were credited in holding the Germans back. (http://helios.) This was a good thing because the Germans lost most of their resources, and the most important of all things, time.
With World War II lasting six years, there were many battles that had taken place. Three major events that are famous from this war are D-day, Pearl Harbor and Battle of Iwo Jima. D-day, which is where Saving Private Ryan begins, is known as the largest amphibious attack in history. Before the attack could take place though there was a lot of planning done. In months before the attack, General Dwight Eisenhower led allies in an operation to make Germany believe that their main target of invasion was Pas-de-Calais, along with a few other locations. The operation that led Germany to believe this was carried out by fake equipment, a phantom army located in England, counterfeit radio transmissions, and double agents. Once Eisenhower knew Germany was mislead, he led the troops into battle. 1. Differentiated instruction- Is personalized and customized learning, and it is one of the concepts in education that many people hear about, but do not understand clearly.
The green trees and rural landscape portray a beautiful spring day filled with nature and life. The rhythm of the water splashing, the guitarist’s music playing, and the birds chirping in the trees create a relaxing and enjoyable atmosphere. The liveliness and chaos in the painting represent the little freedom aristocrats are allowed because of their conservative and high demeanor they must uphold. Perhaps, attending such an event and partaking in affairs were not acceptable. Overlooking the party scene there is a nude angel holding a vase with water, which she seems to be pouring down on the people celebrating. The angel is symbolic of Mother Nature as she pours life onto the people celebrating. The angel, along with the water in the fountain, perhaps symbolizes the woman in the center’s purity and life.
Clearly throughout this paper as I talk about all of the things the Allies did to the Germans you can infer that they Allies did in fact win, which they did. Hitler thought this surprise attack would be a great victory for the Germans. Hitler’s plan was to cut off their supplies, but things didn’t go anywhere close to how he planned them. In the beginning the surprise attack did work on the Allies, they kept fighting and eventually won this battle. Germany was severely weakened by the fact they didn’t have enough fuel and the fact the Allies had killed many of their experienced soldiers. Throughout this hard battle the Allies won and it was a great victory for them.
Key points and actions taken decided the victor of this crucial battle. The Battle of the Bulge began when Germany’s 7th Army, 5th Panzerarmee, and 6th S.S. Panzerarmee carried out a surprise blitzkrieg on the weak line of the allies defenses in the Ardennes Sector. General Patton relieved the 101st Airborne from the German attackers at Bastogne by using quick-witted strategies with the 3rd Army to push the Germans back across the Rhine River. Benito Mussolini, was the Head of Government of Italy and Duce of Fascism also he was the prime minister of Italy; he said “Blood alone moves the wheels of history.” (World War II Tributes) Mussolini was saying that blood has many affects on American History because there were too many battles going on in the past and for those more to go. The battle of the Bulge started off with Hitler’s men who attacked the American positions on Elsensborn Ridge and Losheim Gap attempting to break through to Liège. Americans said that this battle was probably the bloodiest battle in America. The battle of the Bulge began on December 16th 1944; Hitler thought that he could take over the alliance from Britain, France, and America so he decided launching a massive attack on American forces. Many risked their lives and this was also a very bloody battle. In many cases there were a lot of people that did not know that the battle was a very bloody. The conflict of the Battle of the Bulge was very sentimental also at the same time it was very aggressive, many people lost their lives fighting over a mistake one man caused. If Hitler wouldn’t have came up with the idea of trying to take control of many countries then there wouldn’t have been men dying in this battle.
Each school year children enter classrooms with different abilities, learning styles, and personalities. Educators are required to see that all students meet the standards of their district using Common Core Standards. Through the use of differentiated instruction strategies, many educators can meet the needs of all students and help them to meet and exceed the established standards. Are we being watched? Was the moon landing staged? Is there a secret society of people training a select group of individuals for a restructure in government? Conspiracy theories have reigned supreme in our society for years. From Jesus having a family, to the assassination of President Kennedy, conspiracy theories have been handed down through the generations. There are books, movies and literature that all take on opposing views. According to Webster, a Conspiracy is “an agreement between two or more persons, to commit some crime in concert; particularly a combination to commit treason, or excite sedition or insurrection against the government of a state; a plot” (“Conspiracy.” An American Dictionary of the English Language; exhibiting the origin, orthography, and pronunciations of words. Noah Webster LL.D) My question: Which is “fact”? Which is “theory”? Whether you believe them or not, some stores will raise some thought provoking questions.

When teachers differentiate their lesson, the students are more engaged to learn. Students have some choice in their learning activities, which motivates students to want to learn and also puts more learning responsibility on the students. Some students may prefer to work alone or in groups and some students like to be hands-on. By differentiating the lesson, all students’ needs are being met. “Differentiated Instruction gives students a range of ways to access curriculum, instruction and assessment. DI engages students to interact and participate in the classroom in a richer way. It is based on the assumption that all students differ in their learning styles, strengths, needs and abilities and that classroom activities should be adapted to meet these differences
This standard requires a teacher to really understand his/her students especially through the ways they grow and develop. It is important for them to understand that every student is different and therefore, will learn in their own ways. The teacher then learns to meet the needs of all students specifically by creating learning experiences for all to comprehend. Differentiated instruction would be helpful in a classroom in order for the teacher to meet the needs of students who have differences when it comes to interests, readiness and learning needs.
