I want to improve my fitness levels because basketball is 10% aerobic
fitness and 90% anaerobic so that means I will be working hard for a
long period of time, and I also need to improve because I may be
playing at a higher level or against teams with faster more agile
players.
After doing training sessions I will take my pulse to find my heart
rate. This will tell me which particular training zone I am working in
and if I am working aerobically or anaerobically.

Netball uses a combination of each energy systems. It is a fast paced game, with lots of stop-starting, abrupt direction changes, and short, sharp movements. For this reason, netball uses the alactacid, ATP/PC system. This caters for one explosive muscular contraction using ATP lasting 1-2 seconds, and then 10-12 seconds of creatine phosphate (CP) after that. This might be for the centre pass, or any short movements. The Lactic acid system would then take over for 10-60 seconds of high intensity movement, which could be for running or dodging down the court. The body would now progress from the anaerobic system to the aerobic, to meet the demands of the activity. This will last for one hour of work, and is the dominant system used through the 15 minute, interval quarters. As the aerobic system is the predominant energy system used in netball games, the training program is targeted to improve and work this area, for maximal performance.

Approximately 40% of the training that I received to perform disaster related resource linkage and crisis counseling to flood survivors applied on the job. Having knowledgeable trainers carry out the training proved to be one of the greatest enablers in the transfer of training. Their experience with previous disasters helped them to amass a wealth knowledge about the program, along with understanding survivor emotions and reactions. Specifically, their ability to guide and provide real world examples to trainees about the six phases of a disaster was most helpful. Those phases include: (1) pre-disaster phase; feelings of vulnerability, fear, and guilt are high (2) impact phase; confusion, shock, and disbelief settle in (3) during the heroic phase, rescue behavior and a sense of altruism take
Being physically active is one of the most important steps that people of all ages can take to improve their health. The Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) recommend that ‘Every adult should accumulate at least 30 minutes or more of moderate intensity exercise on most, preferably all days of the week.’
I knew I needed to get back in school to make any advancements as well as earn more money at retirement, but wasn’t sure what direction I wanted to go in; should I continue in the education field or athletic training. While walking around at the National Athletic Trainers’ Association annual convention in the exhibitors’ expo, I discovered the Indiana Wesleyan booth. The athletic training program seemed interesting and fit into my hectic schedule with it being only one year. Therefore, as soon as I got home, I immediately checked the Georgia Professional Standards Commission website to see if IWU was on the approved programs for a teaching certificate upgrade. Unfortunately, it was not on the approved list, however a proposal could be sent to the commission to review the program. It wasn’t economically feasible for me to spend the money to receive a master’s degree with no return on my investment if the program wasn’t added. For almost a year, I checked the Professional Standards Commission website in hopes the program’s approval. You cannot imagine the excitement I experienced when I checked the website and saw Indiana Wesleyan University’s athletic training degree listed. Everyone I ran into that day knew the program was added. I

Growing up, I always imagined myself being a service member someday. For me, it was all about value. Being of value to your country and being a valuable member of a team. Not just any team, either: the Marines. I was in love with the idea of being a part of a real life version of Band of Brothers. This was my opportunity for great personal development and so I went for it.

Here is some great news for you if you want to get in great shape again without spending hours in the local gym with a bunch of over-sized guys half your age: You can do it! The fact is that just because you are a bit older does not mean that you have to resign yourself to a spare tire around your middle and lonely weekends at home.
4-Week Training Program I'm 15 yrs old, my height is 6'0", and my weight is 10st 3lbs. I have been asked to design a training program for my PE coursework. I will take into consideration training principles, my current level of fitness etc. I would describe myself as a fairly healthy person, and fairly fit too. I perform considerably well at all sports and my endurance level in particular is of a good standard.
According to Sports & Fitness Industry Association (SFIA), kids from the ages 6-12 years old are falling in taking part of sports, and from 2014 the percentage went from 34.7% to 26.9%. This seems to be a problem considering the kids are the next generation. Being part of physical activity has many benefits that will help the youth in the short run, but most importantly the long run also.
Training sessions aim to develop one’s skills and knowledge on a particular topic, usually to benefit their job performance (Hubbard, 2004, p. 124). Preparation is the inevitably one of the first stages of training sessions. According to Polonsky and Waller (2004) “effective presentations, academic or business require preparation” (p. 432). This stage can be separated into three subcategories, forming, storming and norming. Yeung (2000) defines forming as when the team assembled and storming being when discussion increases amongst the group members (p.18). Lastly, the stage where the group begins to develop and construct their project is referred to as norming (Yeung, 2000, p. 18). This paper will focus the reflection of the preparation phase as a whole, from the recent percussion training session conducted by, James Gilmore, Tik Man Mok (“Henry”), Nguyen Duc Danh (“Daniel”) and myself, Courtney VanGent. Overall, the training session was deemed satisfactory; I found that the core strengths were found in the preparation sector and included, the regular meetings and that there were no conflicts amongst the group members. Although the training was successful, the evaluation forms completed by the participants’ suggested that some trainers lacked a suitable about of knowledge of the topic and that the group should have spent more time practicing. Recommendations will also be made throughout so that future-training sessions can be considered effective.
