The Beliefs of Christians About Their Responsibility for Those at the Beginning and End of Their Life
All life is sacred because it comes from God and hence should be
respected and used in a way that God wanted us to use it. In Genesis
we are told how everything is created from God, which means that life,
is a gift to us from God and we are told in Genesis just what Gods
perfect image is and also that God has a plan for each of us. Human
life is precious and special to God and as it is a gift from God so we
should try and please him in what we do.
“God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him”
We learn in the Ten Commandments that life should be respected. They
are an outline on how to threat God and other people in everyday life.
Jesus told the rich young man that to inherit eternal life he must
keep the commandments.
Christians believe that a foetus is a new life from the moment of
conception. The beginning of life is mentioned in Jeremiah 1V5
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you,
Before you were born I set you apart; I
Appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”
God has set us apart for a mission and has considered an unborn child
to be a living being. This would lead us to believe that God has plans
for people even before they are born because Jeremiah claims to have
been made a prophet before birth. In Luke’s description of the birth
of Jesus and Mary visiting her cousin Elizabeth she realised that she
was also expecting a baby. When Mary entered Elizabeth’s house the
baby jumped into her womb. The baby in the womb is shown here to have
human qualities and also it could respond to God even though they were
both still unborn. Christians believe the baby in the womb should be
respected and protected.
Christians feel that they have a responsibility to help and care for

It is clearly evident that the five principal beliefs in Christianity, the divinity and humanity of Jesus, the death and resurrection of Jesus, the nature of God and the trinity, the revelation and salvation all deeply impact on and influence the lives of its adherents.

All of us are created in God’s image, however we are all different in terms of our strengths, passions, and our life experiences. When God uses us with our design his kingdom is created and his will is done on earth. In this paper I will try to describe my unique design to you and how that relates to my life calling.
... time, the image is valid for everybody and for our whole age. Thus, our responsibility is much greater than we might have supposed, because it involves all mankind. If I am a workingman and choose to join a Christian trade-union rather than be a communist, and if by being a member I want to show that the best thing for man is resignation, that the kingdom of man is not of this world, I am not only involving my own case-I want to be resigned for everyone. As a result, my action has involved all humanity. To take a more individual matter, if I want to marry, to have children; even if this marriage depends solely on my own circumstances or passion or wish, I am involving all humanity in monogamy and not merely myself. Therefore, I am responsible for myself and for everyone else. I am creating a certain image of man of my own choosing. In choosing myself, I choose man.

Genesis 1:27 says, “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.” A man is a triune being composed of body, soul, and spirit who reflects the Holy Trinity of God, the Father, and the Holy Sprit. The Bible states in 1 Thessalonians 5:23, “And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.” This verse of scripture reveals that man has a spiritual nature that is separate from the body in which he dwells. Sister Roy believes that man is a whole being composed of parts or subsystems that all work together for a common purpose. Man has a shared relationship with God and the world (Alligood and Tomey 2010, 341-342). The Bible declares in Isaiah 43:7, “ Even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him.” A man’s ultimate purpose on the earth is to glorify God through his
Understanding what it is for man to be made in the image of God is essential to understanding the role a pastor is to fill. The Image of God refers to
...what one wants to see, but a reflection of what actually is there. A man can fool anyone, including himself, until, through his own eyes, he finds a reflection of his true self.
Hoekema, Created, 22. “Then the best way to learn what the image of God is is not to contrast man with animals, as has often been done, and then to find the divine image to consist in those qualities, abilities, and gifts that man has in distinction from the animals. Rather, we must learn to know what the image of God is by looking at Jesus Christ. What must therefore be at the center of the image of God is not characteristics like the ability to make decisions, but rather that which was central in the life of Christ: love for God and for man… For no man ever loved as Christ loved.”
