How the Trailer for The World Is Not Enough Makes Viewers Want to Watch the Film James Bond films have always been popular, but producers still need to draw in new viewers. They do this in a variety of ways but the trailers are always the most important. In this essay I will be analysing the key points that make a successful trailer. In this Bond film, James must battle against Renerd, a man who feel physical pain due to a bullet in his head, when he decides to sabotage the construction of the new King pipeline, an oil line that can give oil to the world for the future. He must also protect Elektra, King's daughter and heir, after Robert king has been killed. As with all Bond films there is a love interest (or two!), high speed chases, lots of action and Bond succeeding after being captured and escaping. In trailer starts with a High Angle Shot of a helicopter flying over the King pipeline. This shot emphasis the speed of this film. Next we see Renerd firing a machine gun across open land, this helps to highlight the action and danger in this film. The voiceover is introducing the film, ' The world's most wanted terrorist has a new target…' the voiceover is a hard, tough American voice in keeping with the film. In this sequence the director is introducing the themes of the film. These themes are action, sex and danger. He then goes on to show an exploding pipeline, action and a hologram of Renerd. The hologram of Renerd shows James reaching into the hologram into where the bullet is. While he is doing this M is telling him why Renerd is so dangerous. An image of the world on fire and Renerd's head flashes up next. This is telling people want will happen if Renerd was to succeed. Voiceover 'So who in the world can stop him?' encouraging audience participation and questioning them. I think these factors make people want to watch the film. The question is answered with pictures rather than words a 007 logo
In the trailer when it first comes on it automatically uses Ethos by saying “from the bestselling book” which already gains the attention of the people who read the book. This makes the film more trusted because the trailer points out how it is taken directly from a bestselling book. Also the trailer refers to the book

There are many examples of logos and ethos that are shown throughout the trailer. There were much more examples of pathos and visual appeals that filled the trailer. Also, not only did rhetorical appeals play a huge part in the trailer but so did the characters. The main characters had a huge impact on the story and how it was viewed in the short three minutes the director had. The trailers main focus was to scare and intrigue an audience. It successfully fulfilled all of these wants by incorporating all of the above

Even though there is a great amount of audience participation, one really has to turn your attention to the actors in the movie. It takes a special kind of person to really understand the movie they are in.
An Analysis of the Film Trailer for Disney’s Incredible’s. Film trailers are important because they whet the audience’s appetite. and encourage people to watch the film by giving them an insight into it. I will be able to do it.
In the opening scenes of the trailer, already the audience is exposed to the dystopian atmosphere of chaos, social anarchy and oppression. This is promoted by short fast paced montages and high angle shots of the swarmed streets, close angle shots of people in terror and military forces. This also conveys the magnitude of chaos this “dilemma” has caused. A short scene of the main protagonist Robert struggling through the crowd has also been visually constructed to enforce to the audience that he is the main character of this movie. The visual construction of this scene is utilised by a close up slow motion focused shot on Will Smith with the background blurred to completely draw the audience onto him. What is more unique is that this combination of effects acts as an inference that Will Smith is the solution or only hope in settling this anarchy as he swiftly makes his way through the congested street. The explosion of the bridge also informs the audience the narrative is set in New York implied by being a landmark of the city. Already in the exposition, the visual conventions have provided an engaging and well informed construction of dystopian qualities and information about the plot itself.

Since the creation of films, their main goal was to appeal to mass audiences. However, once, the viewer looks past the appearance of films, the viewer realizes that the all-important purpose of films is to serve as a bridge connecting countries, cultures, and languages. This is because if you compare any two films that are from a foreign country or spoken in another language, there is the possibility of a connection between the two because of the fact that they have a universally understanding or interpretation. This is true for the French New Wave films; Contempt and Breathless directed by Jean-Luc Godard, and contemporary Indian films; Earth and Water directed by Deepa Mehta. All four films portray an individual’s role in society using sound and editing.

As an audience, we become involved in the plot not through learning about characters’ backgrounds and traits. Instead, we learn information at the same time through the mechanics of the plot and editing. We are made to work to understand the workings of the plot. Movies take us inside the skin of people quite different from ourselves and to places different from our routine surroundings. As humans, we always seek enlargement of our being and wanted to be more than ourselves. Each one of us, by nature, sees the world with a perspective and selectivity different from others. But, we want to see the world through other’s eyes; imagine with other’s imaginations; feel with other’s hearts, at a same time as with our own. Movies offer us a window onto the wider world, broadening our perspective and opening our eyes to new wonders.
