Mi Vida Loca means “my crazy life (as a girl).” The movie documents the phenomenon of female gangs in the early nineties in Los Angeles. It is written and directed by Allison Anders, who grew up in Los Angeles and went to UCLA. She uses personal experiences to help influence her story writing. In Echo Park, a group of young Mexican-Americans show what it means to live in the inner city. The film looks at gang lifestyle from a woman’s point of view to uncover relationships, conflicts, gang loyalty, and identity. The “homegirls” portray their female friendships through their daily lives of survival in Echo Park. It is a rough life with almost every “homegirl” having a baby by the time they are twenty-one and almost every “homeboy” being handicapped, killed, or in jail by the time they reach their early twenties. The girls try to become autonomous from the men in their lives by forming their own female gang. The gang culture of Mi Vida Loca reflects and constructs culturally understood gender roles.
When the narrator was growing up till his adulthood, his grandfather was been a big part of his life. The story begins with “Buenos Dias le de Dios, abuelo.” This how he learned to greet his grandfather. Next he goes into where his ancestors lived and how. His ancestors lived next to the Rio Grande. He also mentions that everyone worked together and they lived authentic lives. The author then goes into one of his other stories called “Bless Me.” This is about the spirit of Ultima who shows him the value of the land and nature. Next, the author describes his grandfather. He describes him as a 5’5’’ man with a beard and a walrus-mustache. He goes into detail of how independent and hard working his grandfather was through his life experiences with him. The experience that stands out tells the opposite story. The last experience the author goes into is when his grandfather was in the hospital. The author first points out the differences about his grandfather. The smell of the land was replaced with the smell of medications and vicks, his patience was gone and little things bothered him. Lastly he could not take care of himself. The narrator saw his grandfather change from a person who was a strong and independent to someone who relied on others. At the end of the story the author goes into detail about the change in the world. When the narrator grew up he learned to

Within the works of “Fiesta, 1980” it takes us in the lives of a Latin American family. We are described a traditional style Latino family were there is a dominate father figure, a submissive mother, and obedient children more or less. There are two boys the eldest Rafa and the youngest Yunior and their younger sister Madai. During the transgression of the story it is conveyed through the eyes of Yunior. And like any typical family it has its own story to tell.
Since its release in 2000, the movie la comunidad has been very controversial. Some critics have said that this movie is a critical take on the globalization and the changes that the Spanish Society has undergone; whereas others said the opposite. When examined deeply, it can be seen that la comunidad is critical of both globalization and socialism. Therefore, I believe, this movie was a great example of the representation of the clash between the ideologies that Spain had during its socialist era and the ideologies that Spain had under the influence of globalization with the makers favoring the latter.
it is unmistakable that life situations inspired Juan Rulfo to write this story. He like no other person had a greater understanding of how to portray the theme of family especially missing a father as a role model, death, survival and revenge. Moreover, through the use of local Mexican language it furthermore developed the society in which peasants had to live during the post-revolution. Additionally Juan Rulfo tries to add all five senses in the story forming magical realism and a vivid picture that the readers can understand. Overall, the readers learn a lot about peasant’s approach to life after revolution that the main drive was
