Hello? - Original Writing

The women slid into the luxurious crumpled white leather sofa and let
the tide of cushions envelop her. Bathed in the subtle light she sat,
gazing mindlessly into her TV. Inside the spacious living room, the
large mirror hung majestically over the ornate stone fireplace and the
traditional rug from South Africa was stretched out on the glossy,
wooden floor; well positioned ornaments were placed around the room,
giving it soul and life. And a soothing snug sound from the
grandfather clock floated around the room. Warm-hearted pictures of
friends, family and of her husband gave the room a familiar character.
The TV flickered and fuzzed and a smart, well spoken, serious looking
newsreader began with the bad news as usual, but this time, it was
much more significant. The women immediately sat up, with an uneasy
look spreading over her face. She leaned forward and listened
carefully to the incoming news report.

The man strode forward through the bushes, as he passed he brushed
aside the leaves and felt the soft squelch of mud under his boots. As
he reached the path the gravel crunched, and ground as the stones
gnashed together. Catching a stone from the new red brick wall it
shattered into fragments. The light from the street lamp glinted off
his watch which he quickly covered up, stopping on his way to scratch
his thick, dark, grainy stubble; he made his way to the house.

The last rays of light had fallen and now the dark had completely
covered the ground. The eeriness crept in, and like some unsure sign,
it made itself known but not visible. There was something there, and
she could feel it. She walked to the front door looking left, then
looking right as she took each step, and with every glance she
expected to see something she did not want to. Her keys jostled and
echoed in the high ceiling hallway and with her slightly quivering
hands she found it hard to place the key in the lock, but just as the

Essay about First Day at School - Original Writing

- First Day at School - Original Writing “Hello, Emily. Do you want to come upstairs. Follow me.” I obediently followed the strange man up the stairs, turning nervously to wave to my mum. She smiled encouragingly and waved back. “You’ll be fine,” she mouthed. “Please let me be liked.” I wished with all my heart. “Please don’t let any one bully me.” We walked swiftly along a corridor, classrooms on either side, turned a corner and entered a large classroom. I stared around, bewildered....   [tags: Papers]

Crash and Burn - Original Writing Essay

- Crash and Burn - Original Writing He was walking towards me. I was so nervous. I checked my hair and make-up, put on a bit of lipstick and I was all set to go. But who was I kidding. My knees were as weak as jelly, just like they always were when I saw him. I took in a deep breath as he flashed me a perfect white smile. " Hi Alex". His deep voice always spread butterflies into my stomach. " Hi Charlie, how's it going?" " Good, good. Um… me and a few mates are going down to the movies tonight, fancy being my date?" I had been waiting for this night for all my Secondary School life....   [tags: Papers]

Tower of Terror - Original Writing Essay

- Tower of Terror - Original Writing Darkness swooped over me as the doors to death became closer. The pool of blood in which I lay was sticky and viscous almost as if gluing me to the floor. I could no longer move. Panic, fear, loneliness, pain and anger simultaneously engulfed me in streams of thought I could no longer process. What happened. How did I get here. Then it all came rushing back…………. "Hey Alisha wait for me!" I turned around to see my best-friend gasping as she ran behind me shouting, sweaty, red and panting with her red curly hair, bouncing as much as ever....   [tags: Papers]

Essay on The Assassin - Original Writing

- The Assassin - Original Writing It was a dark, cold, and foggy the night it took place. The fog was so powerful that I could not even see the colors of the cars as they eerily past me. My freezing cold hands were as blue as the sea and my leg felt like it was going to break from the amount of times I had slipped on the pavement it would probably. Been better to wear ice skates. I walked a little further and stop a house. I squinted my eyes to see through the thick blanket of fog....   [tags: Papers]

Essay on Sweet Dreams - Original Writing

- Sweet Dreams - Original Writing It was a freezing cold night in the middle of November. The wind whistled outside and the small wooden gate rattled. Inside her small cottage sat a kind middle aged lady called Barbara. Lying on the floor next to her was Buster, her beloved dachshund. She flicked the TV channels over and over again but found nothing interesting to watch. Before she knew it boredom and the heat from the warm cosy fire had sent her to sleep. While she was dozing she had a very strange dream….....   [tags: Papers]

Who? - Original Writing Essay

- Who. - Original Writing It seemed like an ordinary night. The soft whine of the wind echoed throughout the vast hall. The lifeless portraits, on the walls, stared gloomily at the centre of the room looking for movement. The distant moon shone down through the skylight flooding the smooth marble floor with moonlight. Suddenly a “click” popped out of the darkness, and then the old rusted basement door creaked open. A tall man stood in the doorway; he wore worn blue jeans and a brown leather jacket which had faded with age....   [tags: Papers]

Essay on Original Writing

- Original Writing When the bell rang there was a sigh of relief because the whole class knew that the lesson was over. The teacher dismissed us. My best friend Declan and I discussed the teams for the football match as we walked. After a few minutes of discussion we were on the yard with shocking red jumpers for goalposts, a large, hard football in the centre waiting to be kicked and two sets of teams ready to do battle. lock had turned she thought she heard someone, she peered through the
glass, quickly unlocked the door and stepped outside.

The man slid smoothly around the corner, just avoiding the woman.
Crouching behind the wall he could only hear her and he could hear her
coming closer. She was very light on her feet and made very little
noise but all the same the security light came on and from her tall
shadow, her could see her head scanning around the area. Pressed with
his back hard up against the wall he heard her slow breathing, as he
caught glimpse of her feet, his heart beat quickened and it felt as if
it was blaring inside him, he told himself to keep calm, because he
knew there was no way he could let her see him.

She stood just in front of the corner and with a quick glance; she
confirmed that no one was there. The large shadows from the house
covered most of the ground and the tree's shadows danced and flickered
in the fresh wind, even the trees themselves felt as if they each had
a face; with the leaves and branches shaping themselves into people,
as if they were somehow watching, and waiting. As she walked closer
toward the trees she could still see the faces; suddenly an agonising
terror shivered and spun around inside her and hurriedly without
looking back she ran into the house.

Now that the man was inside, he felt able to do his job. Seeing the
fuse box as he entered through the back door he crudely turned off the
electricity and with a sudden electrical hiss, the house fell dark. He
made his way up the narrow wooden staircase, reaching the landing he
turned right, and opened the door to her bedroom.

The woman opened the front door and slammed it hard behind her. Once
she had caught her breath, she realised. The house was completely
dark. She tried the light switch. Nothing. The only light was coming
through the slightly frosted panes at the side of the door and as the
condensation caught the moon light it made it feel very dark, and
cramped indeed. She took a step forward, only to hear another pair of
feet moving with her own. She carefully crept into the living room and
crouched low behind the sofa. The luxury white leather sofa being but
a barrier, to the sound of feet which were now making their way to the
stairs. Her photos of family and friends of little use to her as the
staircase squealed and creaked under the man's weight. And the slow
hollow sound of the grandfather clock, so different to that of just a
half hour before. And so with the everything and the nothing that
surrounded her, she waited…
