Open-ended questioning is one of the verbal communication skills that includes broad questions that allow the person to explore, demonstrate or elaborate thoughts or feelings (Day, Levett-Jones & Kenny 2015). During the interview, I utilised open-ended questions efficiently in the sense that I was able to obtain some necessary information needed to complete the health assessment form by using the skill. However, I used this technique so often that it harmed the efficiency of the interview by extracting too much other unnecessary information for treatment and care.
