Dracula is the first novel about vampires, but it is not the last. Over the years, vampires have changed. Their characteristics have changed as far as the way the vampires act. What the vampires can eat. What are the vampires are afraid of. How the vampires look to humans. Also, their strengths, weaknesses and how the vampires can be killed . All of the shows are very interesting when you watch them and the books are too. All of these characteristics are different and somewhat the same in today 's vampires in these novels/ movie/ tv shows. In Dracula to Twilight, The Vampire Diaries, The Originals, and True Blood.

In the movie, Twilight there are multiple similarities and differences to the novel Dracula.

Twilight vampires do not have fangs. They do not sleep in coffins. They can see in darkness. Some have their own unique powers. They also have a reflection in mirrors, and they can be seen in pictures. There are vegetarian vampires that do not drink human blood. These vampires are not harmed by sunlight, garlic, and holy items or stakes. They can eat human food. These are a few similarities and differences in the novel Dracula and the movie/novel Twilight.

In the novel, Dracula the undead have some emotion, the undead can be killed with a stake, the undead have very fast body movements, and there are vampire hunters. The Vampire Diaries, vampires will die with any contact of the sun unless, they have a daylight ring. Which protects them from the sunlight. If they do not feed on human blood their powers weaken. They can turn off their humanity, it makes them emotionless, and this is somewhat a weakness. They can use compulsion to control a human, to do whatever they want who is not on vervain. Vervain will burn them if touched, and cannot use compulsion on a human who has it in their system or has it on them. These vampires can be killed in more than one way stake to the heart, decapitation or by removing their heart. A werewolf’s ' bite can kill them, It is a slow and painful death, these vampires can heal really fast. They can also heal humans by humans drinking their blood, but the humans have to be really careful not to die while the vampires blood is still in their system, or the will turn into a vampire his/her self.
