People have often thought of going back in time because of regrets or mistakes they want to fix in the past. The only way to go to the past is time travel there. Time travel has been know as science fiction but now scientist have been believing time travel is possible based on the physics laws. If time travel is possible, then will it be helpful for human begins to go back to the past. Time travel can’t be worth it because if you change something in the past, it will affect a lot in your future. The people you thought you knew may not be the same people in the future because you change something in the past. There are different theories stating on that there may be parallel universe and other versions of us.
There are philosophical views about nature of time in time travel if it is possible. One view is called eternalism which means the beliefs of past, present and future already exist. Eternalism is description of space time as an unchanging four dimensional block. Another philosophical view of nature of time is presentism which means there is a past but the future isn’t set yet. As passes the present becomes as the past and the future as the new present. This means that time is moving forward into the future and leaving the past behind.
Scientist has come to a conclusion that time travel could be possible because of the new modern physics laws. One theory is that wormholes are a short passage through space-time for long journeys. In 1935, Albert Einstein and Nathan Rosen came up the theory of general relatively in which they discover the bridges or wormholes through space-time. There a lot of possibilities that the traveler may not be born or will end up in a different universe. After the grandfather dies, the mom may move away or change her path and not met the dad which makes the traveler not be born. Another scenario is that when the traveler goes back to his present, the mom may have a different personality than the traveler was used to. Before the traveler kills his grandfather, the mother could’ve been nice and sweet all the time due for receiving love from her father. No after what the traveler did, the mom could not show love affection because her dad wasn’t around. Changing something in the past could lead to different kind of parallel universe in the future.
For the Science Reader project, I read Black Holes, Wormholes, and Time Machines by Jim Al-Khalili. Interested in time travel and the secrets of space, I chose this book with hopes of better understanding our universe.
Black holes are thought to be a portal to another dimension or a way for time to slip. Mainly all these theories follow the laws of physics and do not cross any illogical possibilities. For a way in which we can achieve any of these would be through many more years of research. If even physically possible for any of these hypotheses to coexist with one another. Learning that there’s a possible way for black holes to allow time to lapse or elapse. The study has been a challenge, finding ways in which these ideas could work. Theories about space time are not always true, but they allow us to have an improved understanding towards the, what ifs.
The Time Machine by H. G. Wells was an intriguing and exciting book about a Time Traveller and his journey’s through time. In this book, the Traveller explained to a group of men who were discussing the nature of time that time was the fourth dimension; just like the three dimensions of space: length, width and height. The Traveller argued that since time was a dimension, then it stood to reason that people should be able to move along the time continuum, into the past or the future. Most of the men do not seem to believe the Traveller or his theory, but agreed that they would like to travel in time, and talked about what they would do if they could. To illustrate his point, the Time Traveller went and got a model of his time machine from his laboratory to demonstrate and later returned to detail the places, things and people he had seen in his travels with his working Time Machine. Throughout the story, the Time Traveller faced setbacks and challenges, but the book outlined how he persevered and pointed to the future mankind faced.
Do you believe in time travel? Because yes it exists. I mean, just think about it, you go back and think about memories, and you plan your future, don’t you? That’s time traveling. I often go back in time by thinking back to old times when I was a kid.
If a two-way communicator existed across time for this to be achieved the two metaphysical considerations must be met. Firstly, Lewis highlights the that “time is one dimension of four”, in the fourth-dimensional world, suggesting that time is just as perceptible as any place and potentially where the time traveller will send the message. Second, fourth-dimensional spectrum also considers causation and possible reverse causation, that is there must be awareness for earlier events to be causally dependable on the future events, and therefore how communication will take place between two different times. Lewis argues that his grandfather paradox can provide solidarity with the past, only if a time traveller was to travel to the past, they would not be able to make any changes that may potentially lead to them never
What is time? Is time travel possible? When nothing is changing does time still exits ? Is that really true? Are you real? Metaphysics is a branch of philosophy that is significant to us when questions and other clams bring curiosity about whether things are real or not.
Since only the present exists, would-be time travellers would be trying to go somewhere which either does not or, rather, no longer exists. Consequently, there is a case to argue that this 'nowhere objection' renders time travel and presentism as incompatible. One way which we speak, experience and conceive of time is that time is something that flows or passes from the future to the present and from the present to the past. When viewed in this way, events which are present have a special existential status. Whatever may be the case with regard to the reality or unreality of events in the future and the past, events that are in the present exist with a capital 'E'. It can then be postulated that it is the 'present' or 'now' that shifts to even later times. If events in time (or moments of time) are conceived in terms of past, present and future, or by means of the tenses, then they form what McTaggart called the A-series (from which the A-theory of time is derived). This type of change is commonly referred to as 'temporal becoming', and gives rise to well known perplexities concerning both what does the shifting and the type of shift involved, which we will discuss later.
Travelling through time is certainly easy to imagine. You step into the time machine; press a few buttons; and emerge out not just anywhere – but anywhen. However, in reality things aren’t quite as convenient as science fiction would suggest, as you will understand later on.
Since the beginning of time itself, man has been dreaming of time travel. The current model of physics shows no obvious doubts towards the possibility of time travel, which leaves many questions (“Quantum Time Travel”). If the quarrel for time travel holds any truth, how will man manifest the means of going about it? Before the theories set forth by the men and women in the scientific community can be understood, one must have at least a general knowledge of the basics behind quantum mechanics, as well as the estimable; Einstein’s, theory of space-time. Also, in a world where time travel occurs, there is the possibility of a paradox, or impossible situation caused by the travelers’ actions. Many answers to the paradoxes have been set forth by notable people. Possibly the most widely accepted theory of time travel, Einstein’s black hole theory, still holds prevalence to this day. Some other theories have come to light recently, and most are yet to be disproved.

As Billy’s gift of time travel began one day without warning, he was left baffled and bewildered. On top of this, it began when he was at war, which is not exactly a time or place to take a moment and reflect. Time Travel has always struck close to the imagination of the minds. From H.G. Wells ' "The Time Machine" to blockbuster films like "Back to the Future" - for years, time travel was the stuff of science fiction and crazy-eyed mad men but as physicists approach the subject of time travel with new advances in scientific theories and equipment, the possibility of time travel has become a more legitimate field for scientific endeavours. This paper will argue the possibility of time travel and the positive effects that this discovery will bring forth to modern day society: technological advancements.
"Money has a time value associated with it and therefore a dollar received today is worth more than a dollar to be received in the future" (Block, Hirt, 2005). The time value of money may be based on the concept that one would prefer to receive a fixed payment today rather than the same fixed payment at a future date. This paper discusses some of the key components of time value of money and identifies the application of time value of money in various businesses.
On the theorectical side, as Mike Garrow notes, special relativity suggests that all of spacetime exist in an eternal 'now' because the finite speed of light means there is no access to information - including notions of when someone else's 'now' is - faster than light can carry it. So, on the one hand, all of history is already written out and so you could contemplate reach back to points in spacetime that existed prior to your local 'now'. On the other hand, light only propogates 'forward' in spacetime ergo without adding exotic information carriers such as tachyons into the mix there is nothing that actually enable the reaching back to occur.
