The American Parkour Academy refers to bodily movement as fun and joyful. This is an essential feature to communicate in the promotion of physical activity. Parkour is interesting for physical activity in the city, because it uses obstacles in the built environment to exercise.

Speediness, adrenaline, and the beauty of mind and body combine with a machine. Every racer lined up at the starting gate with their steel horses to achieve the desire of winning. These are some words that try to described what supercross is about, but is not even close to what really is. Over the years I have known people that don’t know anything about supercross; they believe that is an easy sport that just twists the throttle and hold on to the bike. For some, it might not even be consider as a sport because they believe that engines are not a sport. These kind of people will say that supercross does not requires any technique or much skills as others sports without engines. Here is some background information to my reader to get familiar with the sport. Supercross is an indoor sport that takes places in different stadiums around the US. In this races racers risk their life every time they are at the starting gate to win racers and finally to win the championship and be the fastest rider in the US. Through this essay I will provide fears, misperceptions and misunderstandings from people who don’t know about supercross. Secondly, I will respond to their claim with strong arguments and personal experience. Finally, I will construct a convincing conclusion where I will try to open the eyes to my audience, which are people who don’t know about supercross.

Roping is a sport that most believe simply to be timing and performance of the cowboy and the cattle. However, roping is actually much, much, more. One quality that is necessary for a roper to be successful is momentum. Momentum is the quantity of motion of a moving body, measured of a product of its mass and its velocity (Jones). This concept of momentum can determine what results are obtained by the roper. For example, when a cowboy rides a horse and the horse accelerates, the mass of cowboy and horse together gain momentum. In contrast to that the cattle that leave the shoot and accelerate to escape the rope also gains momentum. The amounts of momentum determine how far each can run in the arena before the rope makes contact with the animal. Another concept that relies on momentum is the rope itself. The cowboy is required to swing the rope with enough momentum to make the loop stand out a sufficient amount so that it is extended and open enough to secure around the animals head or heels.
Humans in the twentieth century live in an era characterized by an unrelenting desire for speed. The ability to go faster and accomplish more often seems to be the option of choice. Everything from the information super highway to the interstate highway is dominated by this need for speed. Whether it is fast food or fast cars, more powerful search engines or automobile engines, the fact of the matter is people rarely stop to catch their breath. Ever since the wheel people have tried to get from point A to B in as little time as possible. This idea is evident every time someone turns the ignition of his/her automobile. Cars were designed with the ability to travel faster and reach destinations sooner, but now it seems that these conveniences have been stretched and abused to the maximum. The question at hand is not whether or not speeding exists, which it does, but rather is it a problem? In addition, what are the consequences and/or ramifications of speeding? The notion of fast is usually associated with better, but is this really the case? These questions will be discussed in this paper.
Street racing has become a very dangerous sport in the 20th century. In the article The Thrill That Kills by Paul-Mark Rendon, he describes the dangers and consequences of illegal street racing. This article was published Sept. 17, 2001 in MacLean’s. This is an article that tries to reach out to street racers and also anyone interested in knowing more about street racing and its dangers. The article discusses how for the driver, racing is an exciting adrenaline rush, but for the people, is an endangerment to their safety. The author uses facts like how dozens of innocent people have died due to street racing. Even drivers themselves die because of losing control or hitting another car. This article makes readers think twice about wanting to go out on the streets and race. This article gives evidence that street racing is very dangerous.
Whether it be running down that path to finish the race or through the woods or even chasing down the prey, running is a simple activity which influences many aspects of society today. Some people ran for their survival but nowadays people run for more recreational purposes. For example, in the culture aspect, people for generations passed down stories of the evolution of humans to do with running and research of how that came to be. Also in the area of fitness, running shows a positive correlation to health. Finally in the media, running served as a great influence for two people. Running positively influences society in three major areas such as lifestyle, fitness, and media.
All moderately sized towns should have a skatepark for three main reasons: it will make the town look like a nice place to live, the kids in the town won’t be getting into trouble for skating around town, and it is a lot safer than skating in the streets. In countless cities around the world, well-built skateparks have also been proven to be valuable community assets with tremendous benefits. Instead of viewing skateboarding as a negative problem that needs to be solved, these forward-thinking communities have found ways to embrace these sports while showcasing their artistic and acrobatic spirit(“The Benefits”).

Sports play a major role in entertainment all across the world. Sports can range from driving in NASCAR to playing in the NBA (Careers in Pro Sports, 1999). Sports usually involve teamwork and is fun for everyone. Although sports are supposed to be fun, there is natural competition. Being a feminine art, dance is considered to be just about anything other than a sport. Dancers are trained to the height of their ability, just like other athletes in other sports. Even though the dancer might not perform with their whole dance studio on stage at the same time, the dancers are all apart of the same team. Dancing is not an easy sport to participate in, so if you are looking for a sport that does not require practice then you might want to look into a different sport. There are hour-long practices, healthy diets, and several routines to remember. Normally, if someone is convinced that dance is not a sport, they have not fully engaged or experienced dance. In order to better understand dance, it is important to understand the history of dance, the competition of dance, and the comparison of dance to other sports.
On September 9th, 2017 at approximately 7 p.m., I went to Gracedale Public Park to carefully conduct my observation on the individuals, who were at the park and their specific activities in the one hour of time. When I got there, the weather was beautiful with soft winds, a clear sky and with some dim sunlight. The park was full of people of all ages. Though, there were more kids than adults and some teenagers. There were many bicycles and strollers parked beside the tree I sat under. After a couple of minutes, the park filled up with more and more individuals and everyone seemed busy doing their own actions.
