An auto mechanics job is to work on automobiles, A.K.A, vehicles/cars. It is a very important job because; if we didn’t have auto mechanics many peoples’ cars wouldn’t work correctly. Automotive mechanics can be a boy or a girl, and they can work on almost any type of vehicle if they have the right qualifications. Some auto mechanics; like my grandfather, can work on many types of automobiles such as four wheelers, cars, SUV’s, trucks, and sometimes big rigs. Fixing big rigs is not the job of an auto mechanic it is often the job of a diesel mechanic but, some auto mechanics can and do work of big rigs. Automotive mechanics of all kinds are very important in our society today.
Automotive body and repairmen have to repair and refinish automobiles and their frames. One thing they do is review damage reports, prepare cost estimates, and plan work. Another thing they do is inspect cars for structural damage (“Automotive Body”).Sometimes they are require to test drive cars for errors and flaws in their structure and making sure they drive correctly (“Automobile Service”). They also realign frames and chassis to repair structural damage. Lastly, they hammer out or patch dents, dimples, and other minor body damage (“Automotive Body”)
Automotive mechanics often work indoors in body shops that are usually very dusty and noisy. Shops should and usually are well ventilated to disperse dust and paint fumes. They are sometimes put in awkward cramped positions and are even sometimes sent long distances to work at a customer’s house so they don’t have to bring the car to the mechanics. A downfall of being an auto mechanic is that it has a higher risk of injury than most other jobs do making it a somewhat dangerous environment. They most commonly ...

There was once a time when people would get up on a Saturday morning, go into the garage, and tinker with their car, everything from a basic oil change and a tune up, to replacing the cylinder heads, and everything in between. It was a rite of passage for young boys to follow dad into the garage and have some good quality father/ son time, or it was a few friends getting together for an afternoon of friendship and camaraderie. It was a simpler time and a simpler car. Today, times have changed. Modern cars are now so complex that a person needs specialized training and tools to do the repairs; however, the “Shadetree Mechanic” is not extinct yet.

The job of a mechanic is to keep the truck running properly and efficiently. This means he may have to take the entire truck apart to fix something. Taking care of the truck also means just the small things such as regular maintenance. Maintenance could be stuff like changing the oil regularly, new oil filter, fuel filter, or even giving the truck a good washing to keep it clean and in good working order. Also, full synthetic oil is the best thing you can put in the engine to keep everything running smooth and ensure the the parts stay properly lubricated.
Some of those jobs can and will be on the water or in the air and most definitely on the ground, for example you can have a job doing work on commercial vehicles. Such as a city bus or construction equipment, there are a ton of this type of equipment in the country so of course there will be a lot of jobs in this field. Along with the common fields in this career if you were a small engine repair guy or just fixing the engines through a shop you are a common worker anyone can do this with a little bit a training. But, if you want to make more money and have a better career in this field then you need to find a job that takes more time to study and more schooling. Railroad mechanics make a better life for themselves because they have a better job which will let them have more opportunities in their career for a chance to move up. This is the same why with a Marine mechanic or a aviation mechanic they have more opportunities than your backyard mechanic because they went to school longer which lead to them making it out
During the peak of the Great Depression, approximately one of every four workers was unemployed. For the greater part of the Depression, however employment in the auto industry remained steady, consisting of about half a million workers. But these jobs were plagued by terrible working conditions. Auto companies arbitrarily laid off and fired workers. Job security and safety standards were non-existent. In their enthusiasm to recoup Depression-era losses, auto companies worked their employees harder, faster, and longer. Families spoke of young men grown old from speed-up of the assembly line. These problems were compounded by an ever-increasing disparity between the economic status of auto workers and the affluence of upper management. In addition, the automobile companies were firmly controlled by millionaire autocratic owners who had a tight grip on the political and business worlds, and a predominance over the nation’s economy.
Behind every product manufactured there are parts, fasteners, gloves, welds, holes that are drilled, and maybe a headache or two. These are all products that are sold and manufactured by the companies W.W. Grainger and Fastenal Company. Both of these companies are in the top ten in revenue for the industrial supply industry and I just so happen to work at one of them, that being Fastenal Co. The industrial supply industry generates about $73 billion in revenue and has a growth rate of 4.4% a year and employs about 95,000 people, according to IBIS World.
Imagine you’re driving down the road in your brand new car. Another driver pulls out from a side road and suddenly the whole side of your brand new car is twisted and dented from fender to fender. Most people will be in an automobile accident at some point in their lives and they will require the services of an auto-body repairman. Auto body repair is not only the art of taking damaged vehicles and making them drivable and safe, it is also taking old vehicles or worn out looking vehicles and painting and freshening up their overall appearance.
Thomas Jefferson said, “I find that the harder I work, the less I call it work”. I have often found myself in situations where I needed to fix something but could not because it is metal. I believe this might be why I began to show interest in welding. There is great satisfaction in being able to create or fix a metal object on your own. As a Certified Welder, I will be able to combine my hardworking drive with my personal interest in metal working to be a successful welder. This paper will explore the job description, requirements, and salary expectation for a Certified Welder.

Knowing how to take apart machinery, and put it back together exactly the way it was before, is a big part of this job. Henry Ford would be amazed how the process of painting a car has changed. The job of an auto body painter can be hard but rewarding. Cars will always be in our lives. But remember; if you get into a wreck, a new paint job can make it look good as new!

He chose his occupation because his father has owned a shop since he was born and grew up with and he fell in love with it. He says he likes his job, but sometimes he wishes he could make money easier, he recommends it to anyone who likes getting their hands dirty and loves cars, such as myself. A description of his job is that he services and repairs cars, performing a diagnosis on a car, doing test drives, completing repair orders, and talking to customers. The field has changed a little, such as, more electronic parts on cars and different places of parts. Something I wish someone told me before I started this career is that tools cost so much money and my body would hurt a decent amount. Chance for advancement in this field is all based on if you have your ASE certifications and how good you are at doing a diagnosis and repairing cars quickly and with perfect
There are times when you find yourself in a fix, with the car suddenly dying on you, while on the way to work. To your dismay, you realized that it’s out of warranty, but you still need to have it fixed immediately, as it is your only means of transport. You did the next best thing, and have it towed towards the nearest repair shop to get an estimate of repair. The mechanic calls later, to give you a litany of parts that needs to be replaced and repaired. The list seemed endless, and you get shock by the amount involved that you have to shell out. You then wonder if the mechanic is just trying to swipe a few bucks from you, since you don’t understand anything about cars.
