Debunking Myths: Immigrants and Terrorism in the U.S.

There are several arguments that I would make to support my thesis which are strong and well-supported. One argument is that just because people are doing bad things in the world does not mean immigrants should not be welcomed into the United States. Not all immigrants are terrorists, there are cruel people all over the world, not only in a specific country. There has been a lot going on between Isis and America in the past few months but that does not mean punish every immigrant for something someone did. "The U.S. federal government should implement whatever procedures are necessary to deny entry to anyone with terrorist connections, a criminal record, or any other ties that would indicate a potential to commit terrorist acts." "While $114 billion represents a startling sum of money, it is only the direct cost of physically deporting unauthorized immigrants. The cost to the overall economy would likely be far more." (Wolgin; 2015). The government should use the money in something we really need instead of wasting the money to deport immigrants who want to be Americans. Money should be spent on something that is worthful in order to be prepared for serious challenges of tomorrow. There are families who are living in the streets because of poverty and instead of the government helping them, they are getting rid of the families who would rather live in poverty instead of going back to a country they do not feel safe at.
