The notion of freedom can mean different things to different people, it all depends on the level of freedom you have over your own life. It could be freedom of speech, religious freedom, freedom of the press or even freedom of economy. However you see it they all seem to describe a sense of personal freedom, which no doubt everybody wants, but only some seem to have. No other democratic society in the world allows personal freedoms to the degree of the United States of America. They have been able to establish a set of legal rules that systematically protects all forms of freedom. Freedom remains the lone basis for American society as we know it. Without freedom the great nation of America would have never been created. Just as how the United States is seen by the American population to symbolise freedom and independence, it also stands to mean the same thing to many other countries around the world. Having your own freedom and the ability to exercise your rights in your own country, is something that is synonymous with the Unites States. America the land of the free, is a term used constantly to describe the United States and rightfully so. America’s basis for freedom can be traced back to the founding fathers as wells as two very important documents, the Declaration of Independence and of course the Constitution. The American founding fathers felt that the concept of great American freedom was of great importance, when deciding how the United States would be and function. The Declaration of Independence states that all of human kind are provided with the same essential rights, and that to protect those rights ‘governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed’, (Declaration of In... ... middle of paper ... ...ots=ydIe1R-bFC&sig=IiilDwrROJ5ix0hTQeBoMOcrSiY&hl=en&sa=X&ei=j298U_zKAoWhkQWkkoHACg&ved=0CHEQ6AEwCQ#v=onepage&q&f=false) Declaration of Independence, The Charters of Freedom, date retrieved 14th May 2014 (http://www.archives.gov/exhibits/charters/declaration_transcript.html) Thaci, H 2013, Thaci: Kosovo’s Strides Toward Freedom Are Inspired by America’s Founding, Roll Call, date retrieved 15th May 2104 (http://www.rollcall.com/news/thaci_kosovos_strides_toward_freedom_are_inspired_by_americas_founding-222524-1.html?pg=1&dczone=policy) The First Ten Amendments or The Bill Of Rights, Revolutionary War and Beyond, date retrieved 15th May 2014 (http://www.revolutionary-war-and-beyond.com/first-ten-amendments.html) Strauss, P, Due Process, Cornwell University Law School, date retrieved 13th May 2014 (http://www.law.cornell.edu/wex/due_process)
According to Dictionary.com freedom means “the state of being uncontrolled by another, or at liberty rather than in confinement or under physical restraint.” Freedom. What does freedom mean to you? Even though freedom means the state of being uncontrolled by another, or at liberty rather than in confinement or under physical restraint, I believe that freedom means being able to accomplish what you desire and when you desire it without anyone saying anything, by reason of the comparison and contrast of our society and the society in the book Anthem by Ayn Rand, the negation of the word freedom, and synonyms of the word freedom. I believe that you should accept the consequences of the actions you take when you have your “freedom” as well.
Writer Marilyn Vos Savant once stated, “What is the essence of America? Finding and maintaining that perfect, delicate balance between freedom ‘to’ and freedom ‘from’.” When you are an American, freedom is just one of the multitudinous privileges that come with the package. Benefits such as rights, the pursuit of happiness, and diversity are some additional perquisites. However, everything has flaws and America has a few.

"Freedom" a word that is expressed for so many reasons and can be interpreted in so many different ways. Freedom is so important to the United States of America, because our country is known to be free. In our country, people are supposed to have the freedom to be able to follow whichever religion that one chooses. Religion plays an immense factor in everyone's lives, this is because, there are several people in the world that believe in different things and they base their lives conferring to the guidelines of their religion. Religious oppression occurs when an individual or a group of individuals mistreat others as a response to their beliefs; religious affiliations or lack of belief. "The tendency of societies or groups within society to alienate or repress different subcultures is a recurrent theme in human history." (Cram101)
One of the most important and well-known facts about America is freedom. We are granted the freedom or choice in our lives and how we live. We are given freedom of speech and press that lets us give our opinions and aspects of the community we live in. also we have the freedom of voting for our leaders and representatives. The American people are also given freedom of clothes, music, and number of kids. This right of freedom in our lives is one of many rights given to us.
Freedom is having the right to own, act, think, and speak without any restrictions from the outside. Ever since the New World was discovered, people have been fighting for their independence till this day. People of other colors and race have been forced to do labor without their consent. Today, those same people have been blamed or accused of crimes that were not committed by them despite of being free. Freedom has different meanings and those meanings change overtime; however sometimes the significance of freedom does not change.
Freedom is the power or right to act, speak, or think as one wants without hindrance or restraint. In America there is numerous of choices that someone may make on a daily basis. If someone were allowed to make their own choices and were being told what to do; then they would not be free. When someone is allowed to speak when they want to, and say what they want; such as their opinion or view of something. Being allowed to have a right to speak is one of the most important characteristics of being an American. Thinking and stating your opinion in any predicament it a strong part in being a citizen because people in the United States are known for being able to think in their own ways. Freedom can stretch too many things such as being able to do as they please, they are not forced into doing anything that someone may want. The citizens of the United States are not made to do anything that one may not want to do; like

America has established its freedom from many factors. The word “free” had countless of definitions throughout time. A numerous amount of people questioned what the word freedom actually meant. In the nineteenth century, the word free was only meant for a white man. A white man had rights to own land, make executive decisions, and most importantly, to vote. A handful of people, such as women and slaves, actually acted upon this statement and created social reforms, movements and rebellions to gain their so-called freedom. Many of these reformers questioned what the founding fathers really meant. Although several of these movements did not work, and got many of people killed, it inspired women and slaves to follow what other people did for their
The constitution of the United States of America gives me the right to freedom because I am a United States citizen. I consider "freedom" to be my right to express myself in any way I choose. Freedom is defined as "having liberty of action or thought, independent". "Self-governed or not controlled by an outside party" is another definition of freedom. Freedom has a different meaning to each individual thus making it hard to find a clear concise definition.
Freedom is often spoken of in what can be referred to as a loose sense of the word. One country has more freedom than another; a twenty-one year old has more freedom than a fifteen year old. What exactly does this word mean? For different people it may mean different things, but there has to be an equilibrium that can be reached in order to determine the meaning of freedom itself. In one form, freedom can mean that a person has "exemption from an obligation."* If only the root (free) is looked at, it can be interpreted that one is "not under the control or power of another."*
To me freedom means living in the present and doing what you want to do our freedom is defined in different aspects and cultures .Everyone wants to be free and independent .I think freedom is important to everyone because freedom means to be able to learn from mistakes. If I didn’t have freedom, I would have to do what the authorities tell me to do. I don’t have any room for mistakes so it would be harder to learn about life. And some people think that freedom is the right to walk in any place he/she wants .I say that freedom is the right to say everything he or she wants without the fear on being punished. One can say that freedom is the right to choose the government in any way.I think freedom is the right to do and speak everything you
