Knowing top web development skills is important in today’s world of changing and ever advancing technology. With web pages the number one way people learn, socialize, work, and even date the appeal of a page matters more than ever before. To stay ahead of the crowd it is essential to have knowledge of these developments.
Mobile development
As of late two thousand twelve mobile devices outrank PC in sales. Having a mobile site that is compatible on both formats is more important than ever before. You don’t necessarily need to develop a mobile page to achieve the cross compatibility you need. However you should ensure your page is simple enough for mobile devices to be able to easily load and navigate on today’s vastly popular mobile devices such as phones and tablets.
CSS
CSS or Cascading Style Sheets is an important time and energy saver to today’s busy web developer. CSS will allow you to easily separate the document layout from the actual content of the page. This allows for more flexibility in page structuring. Layout, font, color and other presentation elements can be easily s...

The transition from Web 1.0 to Web 2.0 ushered in major paradigms shifts in the software industry. Software evolved from being a licensed product to being a subscribed web service. Development efforts slid from the tight control of specialists, for example systems analysts and programmers, towards a collaborative project between end users and technology experts. Learners are now required to teach themselves and teachers are there to facilitate the learning process. The dissemination of knowledge and wisdom would gravitate away from the puritanical filters of rigorous scholastic scrutiny towards a mashed-up crowd sourced assembly such as Wikipedia. Personal websites would now encompass a social networki...
The Bookmaker Mobile Site While the app software was designed specifically with iPhone and Android devices in mind, the folks at Bookmaker don't want any punters to feel left out. In fact, any punter with a mobile app should be able to access the Bookmaker mobile site through their device's web browser. All they need to do is enter the URL into the address bar and the exact same mobile site will be instantly
There are a variety of ways a link can be represented on the web. One of the challenges of designing a page is making a site visually appealing to the eye. Visual perception is how we analyze the world around us. Visual perception is “an active, thinking process of planning for, as well as interpreting, sensory data from the eyes” (Hilligoss 7). The layout and utilization of graphics serve as a roadmap for any website. Therefore, in order for people to effectively navigate a website, they must be able to communicate effectively through photos, icons, and text. The first key idea is the placement of the photos, icons, or text that will serve as buttons. “As we look around, we find focal points” and it is these points that direct our attention to the important areas of a page. When placing buttons, we do not want to make the size too small or to have a picture obscured behind text. If both text and graphics are used to represent the button, it is visually appealing to keep the text and graphics of equal width. This is exemplified on the main page of the WebCT course page where four pictures are used in conjunction with text labels. Each picture does not exceed the size of the text label, keeping the formatting consistent with the text serving as the foundation for the link.
Yet, CSS is very useful in many scenarios, more and more healthcare delivery systems are converting to computers, ranging from client information, to keep track of finances.

Now is the technology era for in the world, many people live with technologies in their daily life. In general, technology meant knowledge of tools improve a pre-existing solution to a problem. There were so many habits of using technologies, like using computer to do documentation works, using social network to chat with friend in other country, until now using mobile devices to view web sites. Growth in mobile devices and smartphones had eased many people access Web pages. Normally, we use the computer or desktop to open a browser and visit to some websites. The content of websites is same when you use personal computer and desktop to visits it, caused by the size of screen is almost same. To build a more user friendly website that allow user to view the exactly same content of the Web pages regardless of the device’s screen size, a web pages with responsive web design is introduced. Responsive web design is ways to design web pages that work consistently across different screen size, platform, and user interface by using the same codebase (Pilon, 2013). The issues we always focus is the elements, pros, and cons. Hence, this report will discuss about the main components, advantages, and disadvantages of responsive web design.
1) Web 2.0 is a collection of technologies that enable us to create and provide services to end users in innovative ways. It's not only about the technologies that are used, but about the new ways that it enables large numbers of people to come together to collaborate, share, and build. The term Web 2.0 was invented by Tim O’Reilly, founder and CEO of O’Reilly Media. According to Tim O'Reilly: http://radar.oreilly.com/2006/12/web-20-compact-definition-tryi.html, 2006. “Web 2.0 is the business revolution in the computer industry caused by the move to the Internet as platform, and an attempt to understand the rules for success on that new platform.”
To create responsive web site, the developers must consider some technical issues, such as determining the breakpoints, determining the number of columns in the grid, calculating the width for each column and other issues that appear in the design stage. Usually rather than creating responsive web sites from the ground up and to avoid ‘re-inventing the wheel’, the developers use frameworks to simplify the designing process .
In my opinion what makes a good web page? I have been on the net for the last, can’t really believe it, coming to ten years now. From the conception to now, I have been a regular surfer on the web, visiting thousands of pages a month, mostly in search of some thing or another. Most searches have lead to even more searches but some times I come up tops. Having been used to the all text sites of the beginning, and seeing the first implementations of more graphic based sites, there was a three-year lapse where I rarely got to surfing and missed a whole evolution in web page. When I returned in full to surfing, I discovered the face of the internet have started to change. Buttons with pictures, navigation systems, some that even worked, all and all better thought out sites that where pleasing to look at and better to work with. This was probably due to the introduction of java script and more complex versions of html. Before then what made a sight good or bad, for me, was more based on contents. As this change came to be my expectations of sites changed as well. When, at first, we where happy to have hyperlinked, underlined blue text, now we expect to have a good, easy to use, constant navigation system. Where bad resolution bitmaps where the norm, now we want smooth animated graphics. The way we use the internet have changed with the advances in technology, so changing our expectations and creating a whole new set of problems for anyone, from the big spenders to backroom designers, how to get our attention and how to keep us coming back.

The development and design of a basic web page can be a fun yet tricky task. Whether it’s a large commercial web page for business purposes, or a small personal web page about your hobby or family; the process of development is the same. The three major steps leading to the development and design of a basic web page include: information gathering, site layout and design, and HTML (hyper text markup language) conversion.
