Upbringing, surroundings and experiences (both good and bad) are all influences that shape our greatest heroes and also our greatest enemies. Psychology is stated as the study of the mind and behavior; well in order to operate anything you must first understand how it works. What if the power to mold the next great leader or terrorist was within reach simply because one possessed the knowledge of how the mind worked. Striving to stay ahead of the opposition or competition is what makes this country and its people great. The thought of learning about the structure of the human mind intrigued me. I saw a path to understand how resistant but also fragile the mind could be and what events pushed to one extreme or another. We were 18-24 year olds that experience Stockholm syndrome; we grew a respect and admiration on our abuser. Even with us performing as one, some the change was harder. I and others quickly developed the alpha male mindset where we strived to be the very best of 52. Why did that only happen to some? Why did some let the fear over power and defeat them? Learning more about the process of we can be controlled or what shaped our personalities pushed me to take a psychology course. The description stated it would include lessons in personality development. This also grabbed my interest. In my last career while in training we completed the True colors personality test. I learned I was heavy orange with a blind spot blue. Orange is stated as witty, charming, spontaneous, impulsive, generous, impactful, optimistic, eager, bold, physical, immediate, fraternal. I read this description and it nailed my personality. Those 12 words summed me up. Yes, there are variances here and there but the 12 words nailed

During the event I learned a variety of information that relates to our biology and human relation classes. Through this seminar I was taught that our personalities are all related to neurology and that each person has more prominent personalities. The left side of the brain is the side that associates with the facts, data, order, and logic. On the other side of the brain, the right half of our brain is associated with creativity, ‘big pictures’, and independence. Finally, the event taight me to be satisfied with my personality color and to embrace my stregths and weaknesses.
For this project; I will be discussing the findings of my personality type. According to “Jung’s Personality Test”, I am an ENTJ. Various sources point to this type as;” The Executive.” The research I have done has brought tremendous insight into; who I am as a person, the functions of my thinking process and how to utilize my strengths to be more of an efficient/successful person. I also learned about the various careers the best suit my personality type which; helps me when It comes to job seeking after graduation. It is very important to know yourself and see how you can maximize on your God given potential. For that reason, I am very glad I took the personality test and studied this subject manner. Barbara Coloroso developed a third classroom management approach known as Inner Discipline in 2002. Coloroso was a former nun and is now a teacher and an author. She firmly dislikes the idea of a “quick-fix” solution to discipline problems. Instead, she advices teachers to focus on helping students develop inner discipline that will allow them to recognize their mistakes, and allow them to take responsibility for her or his actions. Even more, teachers should encourage students to think through solutions, and correct their faults. Santilli & Hudson (1992) suggest that this can be achieved by simply discussing ethical and moral problems that are in the news. Encouraging adolescents to think through issues out loud. Without challenging his or her point of view, wonder aloud about how others might have different perspectives on the issue and what might cause others to have these different perspectives. Teachers who follow this approach believe that school becomes a place where both teachers and students work together to learn, relate, grow and create a community.
I have been interested in how behavior and thought processes affect lives. When I was fifteen, the demise of my father due to Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) triggered a myriad of questions about this disorder in my mind. And this led me to take a class in psychology in high school, where I was oriented with psychological disorders. I successfully completed my high school with an aggregate of 81%. Keeping with the incipient interest, I had opted for a Bachelors Degree in Applied Psychology at Delhi University. Over a span of three years, this course which was based on rigorous pedagogue exposed me to various aspects of psychology, which included general psychology, statistics, research methods, and clinical psychology to name a few. I have always been a consistent performer right from my school days. This is evident from my under graduation which ultimately lauded me first class degree with 66% (GPA-3.61), standing among the top three out of forty talented students in my course group. Therapy Analysis The purpose of this paper is to examine the efficacy of my work as a co-therapist during the fifth session with the simulated couple Katy and Michelle. I will discuss our therapy agenda and the goals we hope to attain during the session. My paper is based on an article from the text’s web site (chapter 9) entitled “Lack of sleep ages body’s systems.” The basic claim of the article is that sleep deprivation has various harmful effects on the body. The reported effects include decreased ability to metabolize glucose (similar to what occurs in diabetes) and increased levels of cortisol (a stress hormone involved in memory and regulation of blood sugar levels). Over the course of this class I have pieced together many things about my own life that before went unnoticed. I am now able to see things in a bit of a different light. Now that I have been introduced to the realm of psychology I understand some of the reasons for behavior around me. I have learned that there is a reason for most everything and a lot of our behaviors and mental processes can be explained through psychology. Studies have been conducted for many years to try and pinpoint the source of our behavior and it is not something that most people think about every day. Having a better understanding of why we operate the way we do will help me to better understand myself and the others around me.

However, in 1879 Wilhelm Wundt opened the first psychology laboratory at the University of Leipzig in Germany. Nevertheless, the origins of psychology go all the way back thousands of years starting with the early Greeks. This foundation is closely connected to biology and philosophy; and especially the subfields of physiology which is the study of the roles of living things and epistemology, which is the study of comprehension and how we understand what we have learned. The connection to physiology and epistemology is often viewed as psychology, which is the hybrid offspring of those two fields of investigation.
This course did not delve deeply into any one aspect of the field of psychology, however, the overview style of teaching proved to be essentially valuable to me. Without this class I would be floundering in the psychology major without much guidance. I am grateful to have taken such a valuable class the first semester of my freshman year and will carry its teachings with me throughout my remaining time in college and my career thereafter.
