Religion is a powerful yet sensitive subject in many parts of the world. It is powerful in the sense that it gives a person comfort in their beliefs and practices. A particular religion that reflects the acceptance of a person’s own beliefs and practices would be Hinduism. Hinduism is one of the oldest religions that exist in our world today. It is widely practiced all over the world, especially in the west. Sometimes Hinduism can be misunderstood, as some people don’t really know how to interpret Hinduism. What exactly is Hinduism? Exploring the many themes of this particular religion helps answer the many questions that are raised by others.
As mentioned earlier, Hinduism is one of the oldest religions that still exist today. It originated in India but there many Hindus in other countries, especially in the western cultures. This particular religion is intriguing as it doesn’t have a single founder, but rather it is a type of religion that has evolved over thousands of years. It has been said that the people of India developed Hinduism over the years. There are many assumptions of when Hinduism originally started but most of them can’t be confirmed. It is just known that certain Hindu practices can be traced back thousands of year based on information that has been obtained. Many say it started back in the Vedic period, which is the time that supposedly the people of Indus Valley were invaded by Aryans. The invasion of the Aryans (Indo-European culture) is just a theory but still shows up in the history.

...rld today. It is slightly different as it is accepting to other religions. They don’t believe that any religion is better than the other as this religion is very open and tolerant. Many Hindus may have some different beliefs and practices but if they call themselves Hindu, than they are Hindu. There isn’t a specific belief system for a Hindu to follow other than the most common beliefs, which were mentioned previously. The important concept to remember about Hinduism is that life is sacred. It is essential to live life with good morals and to love others, without causing harm to anyone or anything. The most important beliefs among Hindus is truth, honesty, and non-violent. Hinduism is fascinating as it has been practiced for thousands of years and it could be said that many of today’s religions evolved from some of the ideas of this particular religion.
