Theories linking to WLOC are associated with concepts related to work domain (e.g., promotion, salary increase, turnovers, layoffs; Sprung & Jex, 2012). Ugah and Arua (2011) exemplified that expectancy theory - expectation will be that action in prospect will lead to desired goals or outcomes related to work conditions under WLOC. Tong and Wang (2012) added social cognitive theory - interactions among individuals, past behavior, and their environment and social learning theory - non-contingencies on individuals ' behavior or to WLOC and LOC, respectfully.
Erdem, Iigan, and Ucar (2014) pointed out that possible outcome such as retention, attribution, and absenteeism interlinks with demographic variables, job-role, and work experiences all contributing to job satisfaction. Meng, Zhang, & Huang (2014) noted that social cognitive career theory (SCCT) is associated with job satisfaction, which explains how a person chooses their career (choice perspective) and perform their job (performance perspective) in the work environment. Theory of work adjustment (TWA) is associated with job satisfaction as a predictor to work continuation (Foley & Lytle, 2015).
