Attending College After High School

Education is limitless; it sends your mind bounding into professional, societal, and personal composure. That being said, attending college after high school is more preferable than just accepting your diploma, because you make more money, have many more opportunities for professional advancement, advance socially, and nurture your well-being.

To start with, even the smallest amount of college can contribute to your pay, advance you in your field, and provide some professional experience. For example, the median weekly pay rate in 2014 for someone with a high school diploma only is $668, but with a few college classes you could make an average of $741; that is almost a $100 incline. In addition, the level of education one receives is directly correlated to the unemployment rate, and people with the least amount of education are much more likely to experience lay-offs and difficulties finding jobs. To illustrate, 6% of people with only a high school diploma are out of the job, while only 1.9% of people with a professional degree are jobless. College also provides some foot-in-the-door experience that may be used as a determinant for your hire. To demonstrate, interactions amongst professors, other students, and the college environment in general provides students with a new awareness of professionality. Whereas, in high school you go through four years in the same routine, with a lot of the same people, all in the same place. Of course, you would also be able to accomplish those things with a high school diploma, but the situation may prove a little more strenuous. Altogether, living longer, knowing more, and leading a secure life are all qualities of a respectable educated person.
