Animal cruelty is any act of violence or neglect against an animal. A few things one may have seen are an animal tied up outside for all hours of the day with no food or water or maybe a person has seen an owner purposely hit their dog. Animals, like humans, have feelings and reactions to the way they are handled: abused animals could become dangerous to society. Society most often defines animal cruelty as the infliction of physical pain, suffering, or death upon an animal when not necessary
Every day in and throughout each province of Canada animals are beaten, neglected, mistreated and abandoned forcing them to struggle for their survival. Every second, there are an enormous number of animals suffering pain worse than you or I could ever imagine, throughout the world at the hands of humans. Animals around the world are being taken out of their natural habitats, being breaded and fed antibiotics. Cruelty among the animals range from puppy mills, zoos, factory farms, and many more. People who hurt animals may not even know they’re doing harm to them, but animals are dying all around us. According to Désirée Achollo of People for Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), families that adopt rabbits, goldfish, and hermit crabs don’t take good enough care of the animals and the animals end up
Animal-rights advocates say the rule would make it easier to shut down unscrupulous commercial operations that confine breeding females at length, depriving them of food, water and veterinary care and leaving them outdoors to freeze in the winter and roast in the summer as they give birth to litter after litter of profitable pups- (Chebium). Animals don’t have a voice; people have to be the voice for them. Animals have no way to help themselves because people make them do what people want them to
Animal abuse and abandonment are a few of many forms of animal cruelty, and while efforts have been made to end animal cruelty, many animals are still suffering. Is animal cruelty right in anyone’s eyes? You would like to think it is not, but in reality there are many people that just do not care! Any act of violence or neglect perpetrated against animals is considered to be cruelty to an animal (The American Society of Prevention of Cruelty). Animals do not deserve to be abused for any reason (The
Animals are subjects to inhumane treatment by the hands of many individuals, however there is little done in order to protect them from this form of physical and neglectful treatment. Though there are several laws against this type of conduct, a great deal of animal abuse is unforeseen and these animals are victims whom cannot protect themselves. The state of New York describes felony animal cruelty as, “intentionally and without just cause seriously injuring or killing an animal” (Iannacone 2011)
Animal Cruelty While watching television one day I saw a commercial for the ASPCA about giving donations to help this organization stop animal cruelty and rescue abused animals. After seeing this I started wondering how many people just watched the same commercial and didn’t pay attention because it was just a commercial. However it wasn’t just a commercial it was a plead, a wish, and a warning to anyone who wants to stop the abuse of animals. Animal cruelty is a major concern in the world today
Animal Cruelty It’s the thing that will love you unconditionally, you play with it, and you will love it back. It is also one of the many things that will make you cry when it is no longer there. “…In 2012, 62 percent of American households included at least one pet.” (The Humane Society). Most people who own any sort of animal feel obligated to care for it. However, there are some animal owners who abuse and mistreat their pets. Although many feel that animal cruelty laws and punishments are too
Animal Cruelty The controversy of animal experiments has long been debated in our society. Time and time again the question of whether or not scientific researchers should have the right to perform experiments on animals has been an issue. Should researchers be able to perform experiments on animals? Should researchers only be able to perform limited experiments on animals? Or should researchers not be able to perform experiments at all? These questions are argued over every day, everywhere
Animal Cruelty How would you like it if you were used in an experiment to see if the mascara your girlfreind used was safe? And then when they were done with you, they disposed of you and killed you off as if you didn’t matter. Well that’s what is being done to animals. They are being tested on. Sometimes scientist give animals radioactive material to eat to see how fast they die. If you know that the animal is going to die, why would you do something so inhumane for no apperant reason? On
