this concert report I chose to go to a performance of student composers held at the Kimball Recital Hall. I chose this one because I wanted to see some of the talent that my peers have in the music realm, and also it was one of the only concerts I have been able to attend because I usually work at night. CONCERT REPORT #1 I chose to do my first concert report on Pearl Jam. The concert took place at Deer Creek the weekend after class started, so it was perfect timing to do this assignment. This concert took place at the Pyramid Arena in Memphis Tennessee. The main performance was by AC/DC and the band Gutted Snake opened for them. The members of AC/DC are Malcolm Young on guitar, Angus Young on guitar, Brian Johnson on vocals, Cliff Williams on bass, and Phil Rudd on drums. Concerto Competition and conducting students of David Itkin put on a concert. The concert began at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 8, 2017. The concert was conducted by Clay Couturiaux and lasted roughly two hours. Some featured instruments in the concert orchestra included the piano, harp, euphonium, horn, alto saxophone, violin, and double bass. Concert Report I attended the Jazz Faculty Recital on October 7 2015. It was located in Marlboro Hall Room 1076. The performers were Bobby Muncy, Shaun Jurek, Anthony Pirog, and Ian Mcolm. On November 11, I attended the “Bands for Hands” charity concert featuring the local bands Baked Goods and Shakedown Street. The band Baked Goods is typically known as a garage-style rock band, while Shakedown Street is a “Grateful Dead” cover band. The concert was held in the Forest Theatre here in Chapel Hill, and drew in a moderate crowd. Although the tone of the concert was not overtly energetic, it was well put together and enjoyable. On Sunday, October 30th, 2016, I attended a rock concert preformed by a band called The Fray. They preformed in Austin, Texas, at ACL Live at the Moody Theater. 7, 2017, Colonia High school hosted it’s Winter Concert. The Sartell High School Band and Choir Fall Combined Concert took place at 7:30 October 17th in the high school gymnasium. The musical selections of the Wind Ensemble included a fun program piece as well as two world music pieces from around the globe.
