Project Task #1 The topic I chose was about “racism”. I chose this topic because it is a big problem in the world right now. It is a problem to everyone. Everyone talks and worries about it. Another big reason why it’s a problem right now is because of the president elections going on. Donald Trump is one of the biggest person there could ever be that is racist and wants to get rid of every mexican and documentary person in the United States of America. This issue was a big impact back in the day we talking about when we were in Civil War Period. A lot of people think that the people who come to the United States Undocumentary are bad people, lazy, rapist, drug dealers, and what so on. No That is wrong. I am mexican and my family is nowhere …show more content…
Trump promises to deport 11 million people and build a wall along the southern border. As Bernie Sanders says that what Donald Trump is doing is his plan is repulsive because it is based on racism. It is absurd to believe that 11 million people can be rounded up and deported, or that Mexico will pay for a wall along the border. My opinion on Donald Trump wanting to deport 11 million people out of this state is absolutely a vulgar absurd idea. I really hope that only a few Americans support this idea. As a family we build a country that has gotten far to where it 's at now. No matter what color, race or if your documented or not shouldn 't matter. Every mexican or i should say illegal immigrants have done and accomplished lots of things in this country that if it wasn 't for them we wouldn 't of had. I agree with Bernie Sanders he is just a racist. Bernie Sanders also says that this country has already experienced racism for hundreds of years. That he would have hoped by the year 2015 leading candidates for president like Mr. Trump would campaign on their ideas as to how they can address our serious problems, not by wanting to split up or as i can say divide the country with racist and demagogic. He did say to worry about real things we need to worry about the country. Donald trump is scapegoating the Hispanic community. What Sanders wants to do is knock down …show more content…
He will sure he makes Mexico pay for it. And will make the US better again. Its never been better then it is now we have gotten a lot of opportunities with our president now. My idea and my opinion is that Donald Trump wants to bring slavery back and racisms back into this world have everyone separated as before. We can not forget Martin Luther King Jr. died for us to have freedom be equal and treat everyone the same as everyone. We cannot bring our past and let America suffer all over again. This can cause us to go back to war only if we let Donald Trump win. We want people to raise their voice to be
Topic Area: Racism in Football (Soccer) Football or Soccer is a sport which is played worldwide and is very popular in all ages of people and everyone regardless of their cultural backgrounds. It is controlled by an International body known as FIFA. My topic is Racism in football which is a very popular and important cause in today's date. create art that would resonate with people on an emotional and spiritual level, her goal was to make them feel. Maya Angelou was considered to be a contemporary poet, meaning she used modern language and form in her writing, though she often wrote about issues that have affected people for centuries, and still continue to affect them today, i.e discrimination, oppression, self-identity, etc. These
I, Lyvi King, am a southern, white female with no racially diverse ethnic identity besides western European. Proving my credibility to define such controversial topic is hard but I feel my surroundings make it that much easier to write about. Every day, I am surrounded by people that fall into two categories: considerably racist people, and another group that are the farthest from it. “Racism is a man’s gravest threat to man- the maximum of hatred for a minimum of reason,” said Abraham Joshua Herschel
words he used to describe Serena Williams. Words like “big black girl” (line 10), and calling Serena “Vondella Aphrodite” as if “black” people have ridiculous or “outrageous” names as Tony Hoagland puts it (line 12). This poem has nothing to do with racism and every to do with culture, human nature, and the media. As humans of different backgrounds and cultures, we tend to root for our own kind. A great example would be the Olympics where people living in the United States of America like rooting for
I decided on the question, ‘how does racism/sexism/homophobia/bigotry affect a society?’ I chose this question because it covers a topic that the characters in To Kill A Mockingbird and I, can relate to. Jem, Scout, and Dill live in a racists environment, where people who support the black community are seen as outcasts. This group includes: Mr.Raymond, his children. (Although, the Ewells are incredibly racist, they are also seen outliers.) In addition, I believe that some people also see the Finches
Kevin Gannon states in the documentary 13th that “We are the product of history that our ancestors chose, if we’re white. If we are black, we are the products of the history that our ancestors most likely did not choose. Yet here we are all together, the products of that set of choices.” What Kevin is saying is that our ancestors paved the path that we would follow unless you are African American then your ancestors were likely slaves and their decisions were made for them. Many people assume that
Introduction The current day of our present society generally frowns upon acts of racism, and many believe that racism has died down for the most part. However, an underlying racism lies in everyday interactions and situations with significant implications. I discuss the topic of unconscious biases in relation to microaggressions. Microaggressions can be explained as “brief, everyday exchanges that send denigrating messages to people of colour because they belong to a racial minority group” (Sue

Racism is Funny Right? Racism has been and will always be a problem in this world. Right now in America, prejudice and hatred is still being displayed every single day. This country cannot go a week without another racist incident headlining the news. Police brutality is the spotlighted form of racism these past two years. This is absolutely not the first time police brutality has taken the stage. It is fairly easy to find an article online about racism and police brutality because there is an abundant
feminist and equal rights activist has compelled me to chose a topic that combines my interest of celebrity culture with my passion for social issues and movements. Issues such as racism and sexist seem to be the most prevalent issues of celebrity discussion with stars like Beyoncé, Taylor Swift and Nicki Minaj commonly promoting their importance. My question, “how and why do celebrities impact society’s opinions on social issues such as racism, sexism and classism” reflects on why we feel the need
Throughout my high school years, I did not necessarily find a liking in writing, as it was extremely graded hard on a rubric and mostly censored. I constantly felt pressure from my teacher to meet our school writing rubric, rather than expressing my thoughts on a topic creatively through my writing. Every week, Ms. Harper gave us three writing assignments all due on the same day next week. Due to these restrictions, I did not allow myself to think in a comprehensive sense. When I started college at Clayton
because of the possible ways she could have responded to his offer. The topics of racism and considering other people’s opinions are the main sources of conflict throughout the whole story. Racism affects people’s opinions, and their opinions can affect others’ decisions. As an example from the short story, the Puerto Rican man’s natural instinct was to help the woman, but because he worried she may have been racist, he chose not to offer his help. People should never make decisions based on others’
The Letter from a Birmingham Jail is written by Dr. Martin Luther King who addresses the clergyman who criticized him and the decision to protest in Birmingham. I found it a little surprising that he started the letter with “ My dear Fellow Clergymen.” I figured that King should at least be offended or upset that the clergymen questions and criticizes his decisions. However, he addresses them in a formal and polite manner by simply explaining his decisions. King’s letter and March Book Two both
Yakin, is a motivational and team building movie among college athletes. The movie symbolizes two different races coming together as one unit and being together on a football team. The setting of the movie was in the year 1971, when segregation and racism was a very big problem in the United States. Although it has been 40 years since this movie was made, today we still see segregation among schools and sports in schools all over the country. The difference of segregation from 1971 to 2016 has not

Obama’s former pastor, Reverend Jeremiah Wright openly made some controversial statements that caused uneasiness with Senator Obama. Obama explains how Reverend Jeremiah Wright lived during a time period where racism and segregation was allowed and goes to explain how many Americans
