Crossfit is the top growing fitness empire, and has been for 10 years. Between classes, work, homework, and a social life being a college student can be a busy job. Trying to fit in a workout can be hard and overwhelming. Walking into a gym full of machines, is intimidating for someone who does not know exactly what they are doing. Without having someone there to guide you through, you could potentially be doing harm to your body. In a crossfit gym one is walking into a gym with very little equipment, a pre-planned work-out, and trainers there to help with anything needed. What really sets crossfit apart from other work out empires is that you work in groups but towards your own personal goal. Making an investment towards crossfit could help your personal fitness as well in the long run. Every day there is a work out posted on the Crossfit web page that tells you the work out for the day. With CrossFit being considered a high intensity exercise, just a single workout for 20 minutes can burn up to nine times more fat than a moderate-intensity work out that last 45 minutes (Herz). Another reason the CrossFit population is growing is due to the passionate adherence, being able to complete a workout that is physically difficult and almost feels impossible brings the sense of accomplishment out in people. When needed the workouts are scaled to the weight each person needs, but no matter what everyone is giving 100% effort (Herz). People tend to push themselves harder when they have a group of people doing the same thing they are, which is what makes CrossFit workouts fun and more enjoyable.
