From an article notifying of the current situations of Guinea, one individual transmits a message through those reading to be enlightened by these events and persuade those who wish to keep languages intact and structure secured by informing of educational aid through technology. Through Tina Rosenberg, she will brief the readers over the conflicts in Africa as well as bring up the language system of N’Ko that is benefiting the education system throughout the land. Within the article, “Everyone Speaks Text Message,” by Tina Rosenberg, the author conveys a formal method in her writing to establish a connection of new education through the usage of proving expert opinions, allowing blunt perspectives through maxims, toying with sarcasm through satire, and finally viewing an oxymoron in the piece, we see a collection of devices used to aid African borders and its communication as well as help those who wish to preserve languages.
Rosenberg develops strategies that allow the audience to further read by affecting their own choices, such as her use of expert opinions to share ideas with the viewers. Information from one such as Harrison, a professor of linguistics at Swarthmore College, who said, “We are getting languages where the first writing is not the translation of the Bible — as it has often happened — but text messages.” (Rosenberg 269). Rosenberg shows the audience a first perspective insight on the importance of technology and how it affects the continuation of languages. With them gaining more understanding from a literary persuasion, it allows the audience to see that texting can also be a very important form of communication besides manual writing and machinery. The author allows a persuasive method in her writing to establish a connection of new education to reveal a general truth with those without the use of technology and to better inform those who wish to broaden education and language preservation within Guinea. From the use of maxims, expert opinions, satire, and oxymoron we see that the common idea of gaining the readers through the truthful, blunt and factual statements come into view. With the abounding methods that Rosenberg uses throughout the article, she believes to enlarge the knowledge of technology and show the audience influence and significance.
