Introduction
Domestic or transnational terrorism, which is the greater threat to the United States? In order to determine which the greater threat is, they first need to be defined. There also needs to be knowledge of which groups are involved and how widespread activates of transnational and domestic terrorist activity reach. Once the understanding of each group is determined then the answer of which is a superior threat can be answered.
Definition of Transnational Terrorism Transnational terrorism also defined as international terrorism, includes any violent act that is consider dangerous to human life and violates federal or state law in the United States. It includes the act of intending to intimidate or coercion a civilian population, the attempt to influence the policy of a government by similar means, or the attempt to affect the government by mass destruction, assassination, or kidnapping and the act primarily occurs outside of the U.S., or exceeds national boundaries in terms of them be completed (U.S.Gov, 2014).There are several terrorist groups around the world, but not all of them pose a …show more content…

Since the 1970’s radical Islam beliefs have been the main factor for terrorist groups. Terrorist groups that recognize these beliefs do not share the same ideals as mainstream Muslims. Groups such as al-Qaeda who make up 92 percent of the radical Islamic terrorists have become universal over the last 30 years, especially with them declaring responsibility for September 11, 2001 attacks. Radical Islamic groups believe that violence is a means to an end. The radical groups believe that Western cultures are polluting Muslim cultures and pose a threat to their beliefs.
