What is global warming? What causes it? Who or what does it affect? Is it a threat to Americans and our universe? There are many different answers to these questions that people don’t know or think about. Global warming is affecting us in many ways, good and bad that we don’t notice. Based on the effects of global warming reported it affects us more bad than good in my perspective. Weather is what we experience each day. Climate is the sum of all weather’s over a certain period of time for a region or for the planet as a whole. Global warming is an increase in these overall temperatures of the earth’s atmosphere. During the twentieth century, the earth’s temperature rose one degree Fahrenheit to its highest- level in the past four centuries- believed to be the fastest rise in a thousand years. This increase may seem like a little but if it continues to increase this fast this is a danger to earth’s atmosphere. There are many causes …show more content…
Global warming has cause some animal to become extinct, forest fires, and even effected our plants greatly. Global warming is not just one thing it includes many different events dealing with the planet. Global warming includes; climate changes, droughts, floods, storms, tornados, and change in atmospheric temperature. As global warming increases the things, places, and people it affects increases also. The weather and climate changes caused by global warming affect humans in more ways than they think. Many people don’t see these global warming increases as harmful. Global warming increases smog pollution in some areas and makes asthma and pollen allergies worst. Weather changes such as hotter weather also increase more periods of droughts in some areas ceasing crop production to decrease. These rising temperatures also allow disease- carrying mosquitos to spread and survive in formerly inhospitable
In order to better understand global warming it is important to understand the rising of the earth's average temperature, the man-made causes of global warming, and the ways that we can try to prevent it. There are many things people can do to help. These things can include using environmentally friendly products, lowering the production of carbon dioxide, and even recycling. Global warming is an impending and major problem for civilization, and if people do not start taking the threat of global warming serious there could be major implications in the future. Global warming can be stopped if people have the desire to stop it. If global warming is not stopped soon this Earth will be extremely different for future generations, and may lead to our demise.
Global warming is a scientific, political, and controversial topic. Some believe it is catastrophic, a slow moving killer hiding in the shadows. Others do not even think twice about it as they race by in a Hummer. Global warming is the gradual increase of temperature throughout different climates. It is caused by the greenhouse gas effect in which greenhouse gases, like methane and carbon dioxide, reflect sunlight back and forth. This reflected ultraviolet light bounces between the earth and the ozone layer and becomes trapped, resulting in a gradual rise of temperature. Over time, the slow rise of temperature causes new climates throughout the globe. The article “What Megablazes Tell Us About the Fiery Future of Climate Change” by Tim Dickinson
Global warming is a phenomenon that is on going constantly in our world today. This phrase basically refers to the increase in the Earth’s temperature along with change in climate over a small period of time due to human influences and activities.
What is Global Warming? Why is it important, or not important? Well, global warming is the gradual increase in the temperature of the earth’s atmosphere generally attributed by the increased levels of carbon dioxide, chlorofluorocarbons, and other pollutants. Global Warming is real and is a current problem that we live with every day. Part of the cause of global warming is Study shows that the Earth’s temperature around the world has increased by more than 1 degree Fahrenheit since the late 1800s. In the Arctic about twice of the temperature around the world has also risen. This issue affects our daily temperature. Global warming has become a subject of political controversy. This debate has been subject to whether humans are at fault or if it is just a course of nature. Although many debates go on, questions of how to respond or help slow down the process of global warming are much more important focus. The main cause of global warming is the human contribution of the “greenhouse effect”. The Greenhouse effect is a cycle in which the temperature on Earth raises, during this, certain gases in the atmosphere trap energy. Global warming is a serious subject, very real subject that is being addressed and can be slowed down.
The subject of global warming is as popular as the president. These both topics have always been hot subjects in everyday life. Global warming is the biggest storm headed in our way. It is also the most important issue of our times. Those ads or public service announcement on TV about global warming might not be the most attractive but the cause behind it is very important. Global warming is one of the major threats our planet is facing. Most scientists prove the fact that global warming is mainly caused by human activities rather than natural cycles. To simplify it, most mechanisms that we use are affecting earth. These mechanisms are created by humans. Therefore, humans are affecting earth.
Global warming isn’t just the warming of earth’s atmosphere, but also weather conditions which are out of the ordinary. Many people agree global warming is happening, but they cannot agree on what is causing it. Some people reject the subject entirely saying the definition has changed too much over the years for comfort, but many say that it is a developing subject, one in which we do not know all of the details of yet. Many people believe that global warming is happening and is caused by humans and their lifestyle.
Although some believe that Global Warming has been created due to manmade pollutants, I believe that Global Warming is a natural process that has been accelerated due to the excess emissions of pollutants from nature and manmade devices into the atmosphere. The world has been said to be on a cycle of global warming and cooling, this process can neither be stopped nor prevented, but it can be accelerated with the addition of non-natural emissions from automobiles and factories; because this is a natural process, even if constraints were to be put on the amount of pollutants released into the air global warming could not be prevented—it could only be slowed. When the inevitable happens and global warming occurs, there are many effects that our environment, and world, will receive—these effects can cause many different natural disasters that will affect the lives of humans, animals, and plants.
Future environments on certain parts on Earth have been foreseen, and global warming seems to be a leading game changer in it. The term “global warming” and “increased global temperatures” have been a hot topic for years now, but what are they? Global warming is simply, the gradual warming of the Earth. Climate change is also synonymous to global warming. The Earth getting warmer is not at all new; “Since 1951, Earth’s climate has warmed by about 0.6 degrees Celsius…” (Spotts). However, prior to the presence of humans, climate changes happened completely from natural causes such as changes in volcanic eruptions, natural changes in greenhouse gas concentrations and solar energy changes (U.S. Environmental Protection Agency).
Anyone who listens to the news for sure very often comes across a news anchor stating how the Earth’s climate is changing. Global warming is a term that creates fear among many. But with all the open and uncensored media out there how do we know that this is not a lie or cover-up? So what does global warming actually mean and is it really true? If global warming is such a big deal why are we taking our time to act?
Global warming is the term used to describe a gradual increase in the average temperature of the Earth's atmosphere and its oceans, a change that is believed to be permanently changing the Earth's climate. While it changes the Earth’s climate it takes away different species that we depend on and some which other species depend on and also effect (in a bad way) the environment in which we live and can cause permanent damages to humans, animals, plant which will change the whole chain of ecosystem.
Global warming and the greenhouse effect are issues discussed by scientists all the time. A natural process that keeps earths temperature at a livable rate is called the greenhouse effect. The energy from the sun warms up the earth when the rays from the sun are absorbed by greenhouse gasses. The gasses then become trapped in the atmosphere. Carbon dioxide, water vapor, methane and nitrous oxide are the most common greenhouse gasses. Greenhouse gases cause the radiant heat of the sun to be trapped in the Earths lower atmosphere which causes global warming. If there weren’t any greenhouse gasses, the earth would be really cold due to very little sun rays being absorbed on the earth. Global warming can and will lead to several problems that affect the environment in which we humans live in. These problems can lead to warmer temperatures all around the world, it can endanger animals and the wildlife, and it can lead to widespread flooding from the glaciers melting. Here are a few more future effects that I will discuss in more detail about. Damage to human health, Severe stress on forests, wetlands, and other natural habitats, how fish will be affected. Global warming is a serious problem that will affect our generation when we are older.
Global Warming is a condition caused by greenhouse gases and human activities. The increased concentration of greenhouse gases due to activities such as deforestation and fossil fuel burning is causing the Earth’s atmosphere and oceans to warm up. As a result of this, global warming has some serious effects in the shape of extreme weather, species extinctions, and rising sea levels. These effects can contribute to the changes that are taking place all over the world, most of which are dangerous enough to pose a threat to the survival of life on Earth in the future.
Global warming and climate change are terms often heard in reference to the earth’s atmospheric temperature its oceans. Climate change often focuses on the present and the phases of cooling of the globe and its patterns of precipitation. Carbon dioxide (CO2) is building up in the atmosphere it can last for centuries up there, which causes an insulated layer of it around earth when too much is released. That insulated layer of carbon dioxide then traps heat in the atmosphere which then heats the earth. When humans release greenhouse gasses into the atmosphere such as methane and nitrous oxide it aggravates the problem even more.
Global warming has been one of the most challenging problems our society has encountered and people don't acknowledge that our climate change is becoming worse as the time goes by. Climate change which is said to be the regular or ordinary weather in an environment consists of patterns like seasons and temperature. Climate patterns play such an important role in constructing an essential ecosystem, human economies and cultures that rely on them has raised the surface of the world's oceans in recent decades by melting glaciers and causing seawater to expand as it warms. In addition, thermal expansion from current and future greenhouse gas desolation and increasing mass losses from the glaciers and ice sheets due to warming oceans and surface temperatures have affected the rising of sea levels. The deficit of mass from glaciers and also the ice sheets of Greenland and Antarctica play a role to sea level rises each year passes. Thus, some people believe climate change is a worrisome issue because of the destructive and devastating effects it will have on cities, wildlife, coastal regions, weather, illness and disease, economic loss, and people. The results from global climate change are now occurring is losses of sea ice, accelerated sea level rise and longer, more intense heat waves. On the other hand, some believe it is not a worrisome issue because global warming is just a natural climate shift and that plants and animals can adapt to such a shift. Global warming in fact is a threat because it causes our sea levels to rise, which can lead to the incursion and flood in the northern part of America and consequentially will affect the habitats and environment for animals and humans who will become vulnerable and endangered to this c...
Birds are a species that will be affected by a change in the climate. Global warming might result in birds finding a more permanent home in northern areas of the Northern Hemisphere. The ecosystems of fish will be affected by global warming in a variety of ways. The chemical composition of water could be changed.
