Every student is different in the way they think, behave and express themselves. Behavior is a main contributor when it comes to the classroom. How a student behaves can force the teacher into having to teach different ways. This can benefit not only the student but also the teacher by having attentive students. Behavior in the classroom has personally affected me by the impact it has had on my grades. When I was younger having class with disruptive and inattentive students caused me to get distracted easily. Behaviorism can make or break how the class works.

The vision plays an important role in educational technologies because it can produce and communicate quite important functions in teaching and learning. Some visual learning strategies that helped me along the way was when teachers would put up powerpoints or hand out charts and graphs for the class to look at, also watching videos or playing games that have to do with the topic helps. Auditory learners like listening to things being explained. Reciting information out loud and having music in the background may be a common study method. Kinesthetic learners process information best through a “hands-on” experience. Actually doing an activity can be the easiest way for them to learn. Sitting still while studying may be difficult, but writing things down makes it easier to understand. All of these learning styles need to be thought about when being a teacher because you will get a variety of students with each learning style. The reason that i want to become a teacher is to help students learn by incorporating all of the different learning styles. I feel …show more content…
I have had teachers in the past who would make us take notes and listen to books online or read out of the textbook to learn the material for test. Pretty much all of the test that were given to me for those classes i did not do well on. I think that depending on how the student learns thats how you should give them the test, even if that means you have to make different forms of
Philosophy of Education As I begin my education to become a teacher, I am beginning to make decisions on things such as how I would like my teaching style to be, ways to deal with discipline problems, and how I would like my classroom to be set up. However, I cannot put my ideas into one philosophy. I feel that using many styles of teaching is better than just using one. Some students may learn better with one style of teaching, while others may learn better with another.
I have chosen to research the classroom behavior and management theories of Judicious Discipline and Love and Logic: Taking Control of the Classroom,. I will attempt to summarize, in some detail, the authors’ findings and compare and contrast their main points. I will discuss how these two models influence and agree with, or contradict my own behavior management beliefs. Furthermore, I address how these strategies can be used in the classroom and offer my suggestions on the usefulness or uselessness of these theories regarding my own personal philosophy of classroom and behavior management.
In relation to this, children’s behavior is one of the many concerns of teachers especially special education teachers who are teaching children with special needs. According to Guez, et. al.(2000),behavior is defined as the way an individual acts towards people, society or objects.
Reece & Walker states the behaviourism is teacher centred and relies upon the expectation of the provision of a stimulus to produce a response however, ‘students are often seen as passive’. Therefore, without a stimulus there would be no response and is only visible externally. The teacher provides the stimulus for a response to occur, resulting in a change of behaviour that can be measured.
certain behaviors bother me, and what should I do about them?" As a teacher you
Behavior is important in learning. However, what is learned or acquired affects behavior. Behavior is neither negative nor positive; the impact or the outcome of the behavior will dictate if the behavior is good or bad.
This must encourage you to use this ability in the best way. How? First step: reading more about this style. Second step: learning from other's experience. Third step: when you go to the library try to choose carefully books consist of pictures. For instance, There is a great book for visual children entitled vocabulary cartoons help them memorize words in a few minutes and never forget because it is full of pictures. It looks like a story book. Also, In the Mind's Eye: Visual Thinkers, Gifted People With Dyslexia and Other Learning Difficulties, Computer Images and the Ironies of Creativity. This book also helps those people who are using non-traditional way in learning to improve their level and provides answers of how computers contribute in visual learning style. A journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step. Learning a second language is a long and hard journey. The strong car which will help you in this journey is your knowledge of who you are as a learner. To know if you are a visual learner or not. Ask yourself these questions: Do I prefer pictures in studying? Do I achieve inferior results in tasks which is relying on listening? Do I tend to draw the words which I try to memorize? For example, when I was in high school I remember myself when I was drawing the tips of any process in my materials to facilitate me memorizing in the exam and I was relying on mind maps in my
In light of my School Experience (SE), I will be analysing, discussing and evaluating an aspect of classroom practice. The practice that I have chosen is ‘Behaviour Management’. Behaviour management plays a key role within the classroom and there are a number of techniques used by teachers on a day to day basis. I will look at these techniques in detail, analysing and evaluating them with the work of behaviour management authors and also taking into account my SE observations.
...s in this field. Behaviorism can be used to improve our understanding of children and the learning process. However, factors other than environmental need to be taken into account. Children’s natural curiosity, prior knowledge, and early nurturing also play important roles in how children learn and behave (education website).

As stated earlier, I believe Classroom Management is the key to how learning can take place and students can feel safe participating. I hope to create an environment that is conducive to learning and involves all my students. I believe the most important part of classroom management is not the behavior problems but creating a good rapport with the students, encouraging them to succeed and setting high expectations for them. As well as using an engaging a curriculum, I believe you can create this environment and it will limit the behavior problems in your classroom from the
The main instance that I use behaviorism in my classroom is through positive reinforcement. I praise, praise, praise my students all day. Students who are such young learners receive much motivation when they hear praise and specific praise at that. It allows them to be eager to please their teacher and provides a sense of self-accomplishment. In my classroom, I also use a treasure chest, reward coupons and PBIS reward money as major components of positive reinforcement. At the beginning of the year, I teach my students my classroom expectations and that I expect the best from them. This includes all of their daily work, including journal writing, morning work, etc. My students know what my desired outcome is. Student’s behavioral efforts are measured and collected on a weekly basis through a behavior chart. Their assignments are measured on accuracy and completeness in order to help them recognize the importance of their effort in finishing an assignment. I utilize a rubric on many of my assignments in order to help them achieve their best. Their meeting certain standards on their weekly behavior chart allows them to receive
Behavior Modification and it Application to a Variety of Behaviors Within in an Educational Setting
Thought out our lives, we are faced with many different learning experiences. Some of these experiences have made a better impact than others. This can be attributed to everyone’s different multiple intelligences or learning styles. A persons learning style is the method though which they gain information about their environment. As a teacher, it is our responsibility to know these styles, so we can reach each of our students and use all of the necessary methods.
Teaching styles tend to conform to the grade level that is being taught. I prefer being the only one in charge, but I do want my students to be actively involved.
