It was long time ago, I remember the first time when I saw the Aibo (Artificial Intelligence Robot made by Sony) in a shopping mall, I was thinking if it was possible to make a robotic dog. Wouldn’t we have a robotic human or other kinds of animal in the future? Now, there are few humanoid had been created, also the scientists are trying to improve the humanoid by different progress system and software. Although both Bruemmer and Richardson analyze the relation of the robot and human, Bruemmer use more logical and experimental for the audiences, while Richardson focused more on the facts and motivation.
According to “Humanoid Robotics: Ethical Considerations”, David Bruemmer indicates that technology can help humans do a lot of thing, but it will never replace humans. He states that if people want the robots to be more helpful, they will need to put the motivation system in the robots. There are some significant danger behind humanoids which will limit human interaction and people will spent more time on interacting with machines. However, human are the one who can decide in which direction of humanoid will develop.
The second article, “My Friend the Robot”, Kathleen Richardson states that robots will be the emotional support for humans in the future. People now a day can live longer, also the elder population are continually growing up. There is a need for elders to have a robot that can take care of themselves, such as medical care, loneness. Robot can have more progressive systems and software to lower their owner’s stress. The researchers haven’t figure out the best way to make this happen yet.

...ies to show the average of elder. She also use different historical fasts of humanoid such as Asimo, Pearl and Paro. Moreover, she makes the readers feel to have a connection to her ideas by asking question like “worried about being all alone in your old age?”(2007) or her idea is about emotional and physical support for the elder, which may lead the readers to think about their parents.
On one hand, Bruemmer’s view point of the technology which will never replace human is a new thought for me. In addition, I am persuaded by Bruemmer after I read his article. In the other hand, I think Richardson has an interesting idea of friendship connection between humanoids and human. I would like to have one robotic friend if it is possible in the future. I think people should believe that humanoid can be helpful in the future, even though it is still not obvious right now
