Though there have been and continues to be critics of Gardner’s theory, there are many more students and teachers who see the validity of the theory and have successfully used principles of this theory in the classroom. It is up to every adult learner to understand how they best learn and to use their strengths to fully understand the course material. Likewise, it would behoove teachers to do their part in observing their students and modify their teaching techniques to ensure that every student is able to grasp the concepts being presented. A teacher’s goal is to open the door of higher learning for their students, the Theory of Multiple Intelligence is the key to energize their students into taking the steps through that door.
