Recommended: holocaust effects on the world

During the holocaust, millions of Jewish people were being killed because of a movement by Hitler to exterminate the Jewish people and make Germany great again. Wiesel could mean that, he felt like God just let it happen, He didn’t interfere and make the genocide stop and protect the people of this terrible wrongdoing. He is saying, that he felt as though God had left those defenseless people to fend for themselves against a great enemy. When he wrote, “The Almighty, the eternal and terrible Master of the universe, chose to be silent” to me it sounds like he could be blaming God for this terrible time in history. He refers to him as the terrible Master of the Universe and in being so he had all the power to make a different decision then the one to let the huge groups of Jewish people perish. All my life I have tried to do the right thing go to school, get relativity good grades and even get help when I was struggling in a subject. I participated in many sports and extracurricular activities. I kept my nose clean while also being a rebellious kid. So when one day while spending some time with my brother and his friend I get a call from my parents saying that they want to talk to us and by the tone of the voice it was serious. Getting home and the atmosphere wasn’t happy my mother had been crying we go upstairs and I sat then my dad drops what felt like a 1000 pound anvil on us. The word separation dug through me like a steel blade. What meaning does this have? All families have their problems granted but being naïve I would assume got the best of me. I always look for the meaning of why something happens and for this situation I could not seem to find a reason besides one member had given up.
