The Assyrian Winged Protective Deity is a very imposing figure. It measures around seven and a half feet tall (Relief of a Winged Genius). This shows the figure's importance, even if the viewer did not know it protected the king from harm. Originally, it was placed next to the throne, which also makes it an important image. The muscles are extremely striking on the figure's arms and legs. The Assyrian Winged Protective Deity is shown in the composite view, so the viewer can see all of the important parts of the figure. The figure appears to be a man, but it has distinct wings coming out of its back. This could show its divinity, or the gods have an influence over this creature.

India has produced provocative (From Western standards) sculptures, from Mithuna the Hindu, representation of male and female sculpture locked in a passionate embrace. During the time period of 500 through the 1300 CE, Hindu temple architecture, and sculpture reached new levels of imagination and complexity. A great example would be the Mithuna couple showed in a tight hug with the female leg crossed over the males arms wrapped around each other, and what appears to be the couple kissing, which on western standards, would exhibit a state of an erotic pose. India’s artistic ability’s showed an advanced style, when it produced the marvelous Shiva Nataraja, Lord of the dance, from southern India, Chola period, eleventh century, Bronze height 5ft surrounded by a ring of fire, Shiva dances the eternal rhythms of the universe, birth , death, and rebirth. This sculpture too, not one of eroticism, just magnificent with a women dancing inside a ring of fire, the overall size, just added to the statue, and present of this piece of art. This is referred to as darshan (Literally, “seeing and being seen by the God”) the very act of beholding the image is an act of worship. Gothic design with its flare, when thinking about sculptures it leads you to the grotesque’s gargoyles waterspouts, these were grotesque figures or hybrid beasts that adorn the rooftops or flying buttresses of the Gothic cathedrals, and were said to ward off evil. Just to the left was the next row of sculptures, this one of people standing one above the other playing instruments. The third row was much like the first, of angels, except every sculpture was different and each looked frozen in time as if it was waiting for the perfect moment to come back to life.
BAPS or Bochasanwasi Akshar Purushottam Sanstha is a religious organization within the practices of hinduism. Formally established in the early twentieth century, BAPS preaches hindu spirituality along with cultural and social domains of the religion. The organization consists of both volunteers and followers. They are located all over the states. Last week I visited a BAPS Hindu Temple located near me, off Jefferson Avenue. The exterior of the temple was nothing special, as it resembled the structure of a modern day supermarket. However, inside the temple was magnificent. The first thing I noticed, other than the gigantic shoe shelves, was the golden lining hanging from the top of the walls. The lining was luminescent and the room was slightly dimmed which effectively created a spiritual setting. First thing I was asked to do when I entered the temple was remove

The Temple was very large and beautiful. My friend and I were both stunned by how gorgeously built the Mandir was. The buildings were big and stretched across several acres of the land. Next to the temple was another large building, which was used as a center for gatherings and entertainment purposes. The temple had many different entrances, the main one we noticed were the big steps ...
...re somehow representing Hindus culture and tradition. Even the architecture was telling something about the historical stories on Hinduism. Specific location of the deities in the Durga temple has provided the god and goddesses a higher level of respect and honor. I tried my best to take as many pictures as I can but unfortunately I was not able to. After seeing everything in the temple I can definitely say that all the Hindus take care of all the things that are close to them. They show and have same amount of respect for all the god and goddesses. In the end, I would just say that my visit to Durga temple was outstanding, and really enjoyed it. I have learned many new things about the Hindus that I was familiar with before. I will definitely go again if I ever get a chance. I am now more curious about finding out some more interesting facts about the Hinduism.
