Teenage pregnancy has become of a great topic that has received a tremendous amount of public and official attention in society today. Although adolescent pregnancy is the big picture people still wonder and want to know how teen pregnancy can be prevented. It’s astonishing to think that every two minutes a teenage girl in the United States gives birth. If a young women were to take in consideration all of the consequences of pregnancy then there might be different possible outcomes to her future. Nevertheless, there are many possibilities to make pregnancy a less occurring incident through preparation of high-pressure situations, knowledge of physical changes and discomforts of pregnancy, and sex education.
Many people believe that girls don’t fall under pressure and that they convey strength at the very moment they are pressured. The pressure to engage in sex increases during middle adolescence. Many adolescents in the United States begin to experience sex and later experience negative consequences as well. 47.4% of students in 2011 coming into high school reported ever engaging in sexual intercourse and over the past decade, the percentage of high school students reporting sexual intercourse has kept increasing from 45.6% in 2001 to 47.4% in 2011.Studies display as more and more pressure is put on a person to forget about what they think, feel, or believe then temptation becomes like a virus and one does what he/she was tempted to do simply to make another person “happy” or to stop the pressure. After thoroughly taking all of this in mind, one must be able to prepare for all of the high-pressure situations to come. In today’s corrupt society many teenagers believe that sexual expression is a happy and healthy part of growing up but life is not all fun and games. We must face the facts: Preventing teenage pregnancy is critical to improving not only the lives of young women and men but also the future prospects of their children.
