Ever heard of the ‘birds and the bees?’ This was a story that parents and grandparents discuss to teenagers to explain the concept of interactions with partners. It is considered the generic version of teaching their kids about sexual activity. However, not all young adults get the full parents speech. Adults occasionally forget to mention the consequences that includes pregnancies and diseases. With the thought of youth not being able to take care of the unborn child, they make the most drastic decision. Statistics show that 52% of pregnant women 24 and under are having abortions. Nonetheless, there are risks in having abortions. Consider other options like birth control, abstinence, and adoption if you disagree with pregnancy.
Legalizing abortion has made it okay for females to be sexually active without thinking about the extent of it. The idea of having a baby is fun and adorable. However, when reality hits them, they realize what they’ve gotten into. At that point, it’s too late to renege. Well not late for them but for the baby it is because the female has to make this tragic decision. Few women don’t want to take on the commitment and become a mother. Others are afraid of the lifestyle they will live. Females would not face this climax if they were careful when having sex.
Opposing arguments point out the advantages of having an abortion, but the disadvantages outweigh them. When the fetus is formed and there is seed conceived then there’s a life inside of your stomach. Millions of people are going down for harming others and others are getting away with it. Aborting a life is like murder to a certain degree. Pregnant women make that choice to get rid of an unborn child and that’s selfish. They want...

...hat consider it. There unappreciated risk factors to abortion and preventing pregnancy is the first step to restraint from it. However, there are other alternatives than aborting the precious life inside. Be a responsible parent-to-be, think clearly on the possibilities that can be taken and make the right choice.

Teen pregnancy is a major issue in society today. In 2010, an estimated 614,400 U.S. teenagers became pregnant, approximately 89,300 had miscarriages, and 157,500 had legal abortions. Teens are having unprotected sex without knowing the consequences of the choices that the are making. Teens believe that sex is something new that they can try, so they can be popular like their peers. These accusations are wrong, having unprotected sex has major consequences, and by having unprotected sex these teens could be changing their lives forever. Who is to fault for these teen pregnancies? Is in the parents fault, the teens fault or is it our communities fault all together? I believe providing more information and awareness about teen pregnancy in our schools and community will reduce the number of teen pregnancies.
Nearly one million teenage girls become pregnant each year each year. (About Teen Pregnancy, 2014). Imagine your own daughter or someone else’s daughter who is very close to you is experience this. Should these teenage girls suffer for their in experience and lack of knowledge or even a moment of carelessness? Teenage girls are just exploring puberty and experience new things and even though sex is not encourage in many households many teenagers still go out and proceed with these activities. However, can they really be blamed for wanting to explore their own bodies? That is why strict anti-abortion laws should be lifted because even though precautions are taken accidents can still happen and there is no reason that to make young teenagers suffer by carrying a child they are not obviously ready for. When many teenage girls gets pregnant the often have to deal with the pregnancy by getting unsafe abortions. This could lead to many medical complications in the future and cause major harm to the body of the
Teenagers who become mothers have harsh prospects for the future. Teenagers obtaining abortions are 20% and girls under 15 accounts for 1.2%. They are much more likely to leave of school; receive insufficient prenatal care; rely on public assistance to raise a child; develop health problems; or en...
A variety of pro choice disadvantages mainly contain arguments with abortion. Abortion does in fact mean taking away a life of a child that has, “no say against it” (Head, 2015, para. 20). Yet, “pro choice protestors do not all agree with abortion” (Head, 2015, para. 6). Many individuals look from a baby’s perspective and shame pro choice. Yet, it may save marriages and save lives, while still providing understanding for the parents to sustain their feelings. Considering abortion
Some women may actually want to carry their child but could have a medical issue that can lead them to having a miscarriage which can lead to an abortion. It is actually the parent’s decision weather they want to abort their child or not. There is about 15,000 abortions per year worldwide, and approximately one hundred fifteen thousand per day. (Abortion should be Banned) For a mother to think of having an abortion may seem very hard. You might think you are doing the right thing at that moment of time but in the future you might regret making the wrong decisions. Later on down the
Red and blue lights are flashing and the noise of the ambulance impels everyone to a point where they have to look outside and observe the situation, as if a mystical force was compelling them. From what they can see, the paramedic is holding a tiny hand telling her to hold on. As the stretcher rolls by, the onlookers notice a huge lump, or ball as a few may say, under the pallid cotton covers. What they also take note of is that the pregnant woman is not a woman at all, but in fact a teenager. As some are astounded that a child is being born from a child, others possibly will look at it as a “blessing in disguise.” The issue of teenage pregnancy is affecting our society in innumerable ways and has become one of our top social issues of all time. “The latest estimates show that approximately 1 million teens become pregnant every year” (East, Felice, and Associates 1). With this high number of teenage pregnancy, it is no wonder that many authors try to exemplify this common subject matter. Katrina L. Burchett, author of Choices, accurately and effectively depicts teenage pregnancy among female adolescents living with domestic issues.
How would you feel if someone took away your ability to live and have a future? You wouldn't have the opportunity to crawl, take your first step, have your first kiss, or experience those butterflies in your stomach at the sight of first love. Millions of special moments, a life, shredded to pieces. This is essentially what abortion does. Abortion is not the answer in the case of an unplanned pregnancy and needs to be stopped! First of all, abortion is a type of unnecessary murder that occurs in inhumane ways and cannot be tolerated. Moreover, there are alternatives to abortion and many families who are looking to adopt. Lastly, the side effects of abortion can cause life threatening health risks to the mother. Excuses will always be made, but the bottom line is that abortion is not acceptable and should be stopped.
Everyone knows that Abortion is a very controversial subject in the United State. It discusses human interaction where ethics, emotions, and law come together. Everyone knows that babies die of natural causes, but others are killed before they get the chance to experience their first breath. Abortion is fast becoming a quick fix to a rather large responsibility, especially among teenage women. Having sex is a huge responsibility, and if you aren’t ready to handle the consequences, then having sex is not for you, and abortion is not the answer if you do get pregnant.
...the woman's right to make a decision on her own body. This is the fundamental issue of this debate. Although some pro-life argue that the fetus also has a right to life, I mentioned earlier that abortion is a process to remove the fetus from the mother, not to kill the fetus to terminate the pregnancy. Once the fetus has removed form the mother, he/she is an entity life. The fetus's right is based on him/herself, but not the mother. The mother could have both mental and physical harms to give a birth under some circumstances, such as rape, incest or health related problems. I also explained that the mother has more obligations to her family and society than the value of the fetus. If the mother dies during the birth of baby, then the loss is more than the value of the new life. Form the consequential view, it is not worth that sacrifice the mother to save the fetus.
Being a mother is a lifelong job that requires copious time, energy, and money. There are myriad different reasons in which a woman would consider getting an abortion. The decision is often tragic and painful for the mother. It is one of the biggest choices a woman will make. Many people have strong beliefs about abortion, and if a mother makes a decision that they do not agree with they sometimes turn against the mother, and enkindle egregious feelings about their decision for the rest of their life. Indeed a woman may not get an abortion for selfish reasons or out of convenience, but out of a desire to protect certain important values such as her own health or a decent standard of living for the other members of the family. Additional intentions for having abortion include rape, financial difficulties, obligation by family members, or danger to the baby’s health (Roleff
Every day, an overwhelming amount of human beings’ lives are terminated. The culprit: unwanted pregnancies. Many woman are (not by choice), becoming pregnant as a result of unsafe sex, rape, and other things. So what is one to do when they discover that they’re pregnant? They have some alternatives: (1) have the child and raise it (2) have the child, then give it up for adoption (3) get an abortion. Sadly, many women choose alternative three, unaware of what they’re getting themselves into.
Women who reported in this concluded in the idea that they chose abortion becsue they felt that a child would interfere with their future success and that they don’t want to waste their youth on their mistakes. Others want to give their baby a better life and they know that the baby will only be living in misery if they kept the baby. Immaturity and lack of independence is another factor for abortion, younger women fall in this category because they feel that they have not yet lived life to the fullest and that having a baby would be a drastic thing that could affect their
In America, one million teenagers get pregnant every year (National Abortion Federation, 2003). Of these pregnancies, 78% are unplanned because these teenagers start having sex at a very young age and are unaware of ways to prevent pregnancies. Thirty five percent of the pregnant teenagers chose to abort, as they fear that the consequences of the pregnancy might cause significant effects to their lives. The problems that come with teenage pregnancies include dropping out of school, receiving inadequate prenatal care, developing health problems, relying on public assistance to raise a child, and probably divorcing their partners. In most states, the law allows pregnant teenagers to take their babies for adoption without consulting their parents. The same laws allow the teenagers to have an abortion but require parental notification or consent before carrying out the procedure. These laws prove biased as they favor one resolution over the other, as they force some to bear babies they do not want by restricting their options.
Aborting an unborn fetus is not an activity that happens once and it is done, it continues to dwell on all of the individuals involved with the process. Abortion is a cruel action to perform and has other options. Individuals who are pro-life consider the fact that even as a young fetus, it is a human being. Abortion is a very controversial topic. There are many different aspects to consider before receiving an abortion; cultural opinions, psychological effects on the woman, and the termination of an already developing fetus. Abortion not only takes away individual tissues forming, it has the potential to take away a future friend, sibling or spouse.
The problem with teenage pregnancy is it requires intervention from society. This debate is from the perspective of teens, and absent from the medical, ethical, and political views on teen pregnancy. According to Jewell, Tacchi, & Donovan, (2000), teen pregnancy is not a problem for teens themselves but more of a problem for society. The large numbers of unintended pregnancies are among unmarried teens.
