Teenage Rebellion In Teenagers

They say all teenagers are rebels, but my experience tells me they aren’t. Everyone knows that teenagers have a tendency to go out and do things against the social norm of the current time period. Though many teenagers do things that aren’t right at the time, many of them follow what’s expected from them. As an older teenager, I was able to have the opportunity to do things that seemed more mature than my age accepted. Though I had the opportunity to do these things, I never did. A major theme that goes through a teenager’s life is their want to experiment with new things, especially when going to college. Though the typical age for sex and tobacco use is 18 & the age for drinking is 21 (in the state of West Virginia) many teenagers are having experiences with these things in their mid-teens. Not every single teenager does these things though. Personally I have set a strong dislike towards tobacco and drinking. My group of friends that I position myself with also like to stay clean. Though my friend group is clean, I know a few kids who do fit into the stereotype. A lot of kids nowadays think that alcohol and smoking is becoming a younger age necessity. Though the laws have a certain age, there are kids who are able to get these things through third parties or being sneaky. There is only a label of being rebels because some kids do things Again, not all teenagers are like this. I have a high respect for my dad’s orders and never try to go against his wants. I also like to help the elderly people that are not able to do some physical activities like mowing their grass. Most teenagers did not have a good parental figure that taught them right from wrong and what is respectful. There are some adults who still want to live in their teenage years and take their underage teens to events that introduce them to things that may be classified as rebel
