One way to support my students in the classroom is to be familiar with their learning styles. Not all students learn the same way in a classroom. By knowing and getting familiar with the students learning styles, I would know how I will deliver my lessons and lectures that will accommodate each student learning styles. In class, we discuss about the VAKT (Visual, Auditory, Kinaesthetic, and Tactile) Learning Modalities that filters how students learn best and how they can connect new information to old information (Greczi, 2014). By implementing different lessons that accommodate each student preferred learning styles, I believe that my students will have the chance to figure out a particular lesson much better since they have different ways to perceive an information and new learning.
Furthermore, by getting familiar with my students different ways of receiving new information, I can be creative with how I deliver the materials that they need to learn. I would not be surprise if I encounter students in the future who are visual learner, auditory learner, kinaesthetic learner, or tactile learner. Since visual learners learn best by seeing, then one way to stimulate my students mind to focus on the lecture material is to start off with a video that relate to the learning material. Not only would the visual learners benefit from the video presentation, but also my students who are auditory learners, since they prefer listening when they are receiving new information. On the other hand, if I have students who are kinaesthetic-tactile learners, then I will courteously ask them to write notes and data that are valuable while they are watching the video. In that sense, they will not be bored by just watching the video that I am presenti...

...Greczi, 2014). That being said, my students will achieve a reasonable amount of learning by helping one another through cooperative learning. In addition, cooperative learning helps students face criticism and criticize other students’ ideas (Greczi, 2014). Based on my own experience, I come across people who have a hard time trying to face criticisms from other people. As a teacher, I am responsible to create a learning environment where every student can bravely face criticisms from other student and at the same time giving criticisms to others. Because cooperative learning develops skills stated earlier, I believe that my students would benefit from my class if they learn how to manage and correctly appreciate criticisms. In summary, cooperative learning is one way I can help my students develop their interpersonal skills and building relationships to each other.

Essay about Paideia: Teaching to Students’ Individual Learning Styles

- The Paideia Proposal was created by Mortimer J. Adler to overcome elitism in the school system and replace it with a true democratic system. The Paideia Proposal aims to improve the quality of schools in America and to make education available to all students (Adler, 1984). Learning Styles And Teaching Styles Essay

- Some educational systems have already begun to make use of learning styles, yet there is surprisingly little research on the benefits for it. While there is a significant amount of research on theories about learning styles, studies which have actual measurable data are few and far between. Learning Styles And Teaching Styles Essay

- As a teacher, my goal every day is to try and have my lesson reach all of my learners. This is not an easy task, as some students are NF’s, others are NT’s, some are SJ’s and others are SP’s. They also all have different learning styles in which they best learn through. According to Phillips, “students will be engaged if they are in their learning style 25% of the time” (2001). This can be extremely difficult to manage, because there are so many different learning styles. It can be easy to fall into a routine of teaching students using the method that is the easiest for me to learn by, but I need to remember that we are all unique individuals....   [tags: Education, Learning styles, Teacher, Want]

Essay on Learning Styles And Teaching Styles

- The term learning styles is based on the assumption that individuals differ in regards to what mode of instruction is most effective for them. Educational practitioners have long stressed that optimal instruction requires diagnosing these individual styles and designing instruction accordingly. It is based on two fundamental flaws that I give the following rebuttal: 1) there appears to be no credible scientific evidence establishing learning styles exist (Riener & Willingham, 2010), and 2) assuming [1], it must be therefore true that people can learn in a variety of ways outside of one particular learning style....   [tags: Education, Learning, Learning styles, Knowledge]
