Education Is A Profession Of Change Essay

- “Your old road is rapidly agin’ /Please get out of the new one if you can’t lend your hand / For the times they are a-changin’ “ – Bob Dylan, 1963 To write that education is constantly evolving and that good teachers are open to change seems almost cliché. However, education, by its very nature, is a profession of change. As a “110 percenter,” I vowed to not only pursue excellence, but to embrace change. I would never settle for complacency, and I would do my best to leave this noble profession better than when I found it....   [tags: Education, Teacher, School, Educational psychology]

Teaching As A Unique Profession Essay examples

- Question One: Teaching as a Unique Profession There is much controversy surrounding the idea that teaching is not considered a “profession.” However, there is much evidence that debunks the theory that teaching is more of an occupation than a professional field. According to the National Labor Relations Act, the formal definition for a profession is an occupation that is “engaged in work predominately intellectual… involving consistent exercise of discretion and judgment… of such character that output cannot be standardized… requiring knowledge of an advanced type in a field of science or learning customarily acquired by prolonged course of specialized intellectual instruction and study” (To...   [tags: Education, Teacher, School, Profession]

Teaching: The Most Important Profession Essay

- I believe that teaching is the most important profession in the world. How else can we continue to develop in such a technical world, or in any other way, for that matter. Without the transfer of knowledge to young minds, we will stagnate and wither as a world. Teaching is hope for better, more successful futures. Learning is hope for becoming better individuals, for gaining intelligence, and for implementing practical experiences in our future. Since we always tell our children that they should plan for their futures and work to realize those goals, the teaching profession should “practice what it preaches” by helping young people to reach those goals....   [tags: career, teaching,]

The Importance Of Teaching As A Profession Essay
