(Koch, 2012) This powerful statement talks about the goodness of fit. This is the qualities of a person that makes them feel qualified to pursue a career in teaching. As a teacher I will be responsible for the next generation of the world so I must make sure that I possess the qualities that will inspire them. As an educator you must make sure that you are able to be a centered presence. I feel that I embody this because I have worked with youths for many years in an out of a class setting. I also have the pleasure of taking a group of 12 adult students and teaching them how to become effective leaders. The Teacher : The Good Teacher Essay

- “The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires.” This quote by William Arthur Ward is perhaps my favorite message in regards to education and the role that teachers play in the lives of their students. Though young in age and with obvious faults, I make up for it with life experiences that sadden, amaze, and inspire those who are eager to listen and to learn. A brief description will show that growing up I was taught to be a “southern gentlemen”, that is to be respectful to everybody, have proper manners, and most importantly to be a hard worker....   [tags: Teacher, Education, Substitute teacher, School]

- "Good teaching cannot be reduced to technique; good teaching comes from the identity and integrity of the teacher." (Palmer, 2007, 10) From this quote, I understand that just because you have the tools and technique to be a teacher, doesn 't make you a good teacher. You need to have the passion and drive to teach in order to be a good teacher. In my experience, the good teachers were the ones that integrated themselves into the lesson. You saw and understood that they loved what they did and were comfortable with who they were and how they were teaching....   [tags: Education, Teacher, School, Pedagogy]

The Importance Of A Good Teacher Is Rare Essay

- Yoana LemusMrs. Long English 73XEssay #4Crazy Is NormalMany would agree that having a good teacher is rare; it takes a lot of patience, creativity and love for the job and the students to be a good teacher. I would agree that Mr. Lofthouse from the book I read Crazy is normal was a very good teacher, he gave all his student 's tough love, treated everyone the same and the most important thing believed in them, because of its Lofthouse’s class was very successful. What Makes A Good Teacher? Essay

- I am intrigued with Palmer’s premise in The Courage to Teach, simply “good teaching cannot be reduced to techniques; good teaching comes from the identity and integrity of the teacher.“ In a time when education reform is focused primarily on pedagogy, he sheds a light on the many different elements that go into being a good teacher. He also asks us to think about what makes a good teacher or a good mentor, as I reflect on the classes that I have enjoyed the most, they are those where the teacher thoroughly enjoyed what they were teaching, but also teaching itself....   [tags: Education, Teacher, School, Pedagogy]

Essay on Qualities Of A Good Teacher

- The Future is On Our Shoulders The future of American depends on the children of this nation; to make smart, and responsible, adults we must start at the beginning of their learning experience. The reason I would like to be a part of this process is because I look around, and I myself see kids disrespecting their elders like it is no big deal, and I hope to help them. The career I am considering would be elementary school teacher, and the reasons behind this would be qualities of a teacher, helping the future of America, and promote academic diversity....   [tags: School, Teacher, Education, History of education]
