Working out with a partner not only can help motivate you to do the best you can every work out. I have always hated running, recently I have been running with a partner and it has made running fun and challenging. Your workout partner does not have to be the same person. Having someone there to motivate you and work harder can help speed up body fat and weight loss! Stay consistent Just because you had a great workout, does not mean you can take the next 3 days off. Being productive and sticking to a schedule is how you are going to be successful. Too many times I hear I have no time to go to the gym, but you have time to sit on the couch? Do you not have at least an hour a day for yourself so you can workout. Everyone has to have their time. This time is there for you so you can get your work out in. Did you know that more than two thirds of Americans are either overweight or obese (Center for Disease Conrtol)? This is the growing problem in the U.S that we, as Americans, can’t seem to find a solution to. The government spends billions of dollars annually to help those with overweight/obese health issues. But the government does not directly help people by changing their diets and making them healthy enough to live without those medical expenses. This trend is also upwards and the number of obese/overweight Americans has tripled since 1963 (Smith). Americans today should be forced by the government to have a healthy diet and avoid or limit the consumption of fast food.

Body composition is divided into two separate types of mass fat-free mass which is comprised of all of the body’s non-fat tissues and body fat. Fat-free mass includes bone, water, muscle, and tissues (Scott, 2013). A high percentage of body fat can have a negative effect on overall well-being of an individual (Scott, 2013). Large amount of fat stored in certain places on the body it can put that person at a higher risk for disease like high blood pressure, high cholesterol, hypertension, cancer, increase risk heart conditions, and/or stroke. I say this because whenever I start a workout plan, I am never consistent with keeping it up. When I started the program I couldn't understand the purpose of building muscles and the benefits of it; I just thought that by doing so I would only become bulky which I did not want. Most times, I would set a goal for the ideal weight I wanted to be for example I would say lose 20 pounds before Carmel's wedding in July, and I would work towards it. However, now when I work out it's not just about how much I am going to lose but also have the proper ways to build muscle, effective ways to stretch before and after workouts and the different types of training to get the best results. Furthermore, by reading the fitness and lifestyle management for law enforcement textbook, I honestly feel more motivated to be in shape. The proportion of my total Calories target is 2200 Calories, but my average is 1381 Calories which is under the required intake. Protein’s is 46g, my average consumption is 45g which is one gram lower from my target. Carbohydrates on the other hand shows satisfactory with target of 130g which is 45-65% in Calories percentage, my average consumption is 173g, which is 50% Calories. My Total Fats target 20 – 35% of total Calories, my average consumption is 41% which is over the required consumption. Lower calories will give me less energy but if I lower my fats intake, I will hopefully lose weight. I will have to lower my fats intake by eating less of barbecued and fried pork, beef and chicken, instead, I will try to eat more baked skinless chicken and consume more of whole oatmeal or less white
