Michael Jordan
I chose Michael Jordan for my report because he is an inspiration to me and is the greatest basketball player ever. He was born on February 17, 1963, in Brooklyn, New York. His parents names are James and Deloris Jordan. James Jordan made a living as a mechanic and Deloris made a living as a bank teller(world biography). Michael has four siblings, two were boys and the other two were girls. His brothers names were James R. Jordan jr. and Larry Jordan. His sisters names were Deloris and Roslyn Jordan(Google). In this paper I will be showing you how Michael Jordan changed the way people look at and play basketball.
Jordan is an inspiration to most people because he was cut from his varsity basketball team his sophomore year but that didn't stop him. Instead of Jordan making varsity his good friend Leroy Smith made the varsity basketball team. Being cut was the hardest thing for Jordan to take. With a new found motivation he worked really hard and became a starting junior varsity star. From his spontaneous sophomore year and the summer before his junior year he grew to be 6'3". The coaches decided Jordan would now wear the varsity uniform. His actions showed everyone that if you work hard eventually you will achieve your goal.
Michael Jordan enrolled at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1981, and soon became an important member of the school's basketball team. His team won the NCAA Division I championships in 1982 with Jordan scoring the final basket needed to defeat Georgetown University. For many years Michael Jordan has been seen as one of the greatest players to ever play the game of basketball. Michael Jordan was first drafted into the NBA by the Chicago Bulls as the third pick in the first round of the NBA draft of 1984, after finishing his college career at the University of North Carolina. Michael Jordan has been known for his high flying and stylish dunks ever since he first stepped into the basketball scene, but there is more to Michael Jordan than his ability to dunk.
Michael Jordan, in his prime, was thought of as one of the greatest basketball champions of all time. A shooting guard, standing at six-six, Jordan was able to out play anyone in his position. He started his career at the University of North Carolina, where he helped his team win a national championship. He then was drafted by the Chicago Bulls in the 1984-85 season. While playing for the Bulls, Jordan received many awards such as, MVP, five championships, Olympic gold medals, slam dunk contests, and many more defensive and offensive awards. Jordan simply dominated the nineties and left the game as a NBA Finals winner in 1998.
Michael Jordan is a retired, extremely successful basketball player who played in the large, National Basketball Association. He was born on February 17, 1963 and his nationality is American. Michael Jordan is a big as most average shooting guards in the NBA at 6 feet 6 inches and his weight is listed at 216 lb. For many people, Michael Jordan is considered the best basketball player to live on the planet. For his whole career, he only played for two different franchises, the successful Chicago Bulls, and the improving Washington Wizards. This amazing player had a couple of large breaks in his career, he retired three times in all, but the first two time he had retired from the league, he returned to the NBA in nearly 3 years each time. After he retired, he played baseball in the MLB, but figured that he was meant for basketball then eventually returned to the NBA. There were all of these specials on the sports channels and the news so I had to find out what all the commotion was about. This is why I chose Michael Jordan to be the topic of my research paper. I hoped to find out how he became to be considered the greatest basketball player to ever play the game. I learned about a lot about Michael during the first week of my search since he was getting so much attention from the media at the time.

As a senior in high school he was selected to the McDonald’s All-American Team, and then later accepted a scholarship to play for the University of North Carolina.
