The latest premium services provided for video content downloading is called as cloud downloading. Consisting of two modes namely server mode and helper mode. Both these designs are useful for certain operating regimes. Here to propose an algorithm called Automatic Mode Selection (AMS) that switches between the modes automatically. Thus, it helps to optimize the design of cloud downloading services (Yipeng Zhou et al., 2013). Yan et al focused on using cloud download scheme for providing satisfactory content distribution service for unpopular video by improving the data transfer rate and by utilising the cloud to guarantee the data health of video (Huang et al., 2011).Nalini and Srinivas proposed a predictive placement policy that determines the degree of replication based on priori predictions of injected subscriber requests for popular videos. This policy can be combined with an adaptive scheduling policy which determines the relative utility of resources in a video server for assignment of request to replicas. This combination performs best for more server configurations as load management procedure (Venkatasubramanian.N and S. Ramanathan, 1997). Peer-to-Peer overlay networks such as Bittorrent and Avalanche are highly implemented on large files for higher performance in an transaction from the server to as many end-users. The core concept is that the files are splitted into equal size in order to be downloaded by the users from the host. However the performance haven’t reached the higher merits when compared to one system and the other new concept is that, analytical performance analysis based on the new uplink sharing version of broadcasting problem (Mundinger et al., 2008). Pure P2P architecture implement resource mediation ...

...ent Delivery Networks (CCDN). In this paper, an efficient solution is provided for distributing content over multi-provider inter network environment. Novel replica placement algorithms are used to overcome replica placement problem for the virtualized environment (ChrysaPapagianni et al., 2013).A traditional system using virtual machine cannot satisfy the increased demand for large scale VM hosting. So we propose Liquid, a scalable deduplication file system designed particularly for large scale VM deployment leading to increased IO performance by caching frequently accessed data (Xun Zhao et al., 2013).. A way to respond to a large number of user requests using virtual machines is a challenge. We address this challenge with VMThunder, a new VM tool and speed up VM image streaming by integrating peer-to-peer (P2P) streaming techniques (Zhaoning Zhang et al., 2014).
Another way to use Cloud Storage is to back up any data (movies, pictures, videos, documents, and any other data types). This i...
Peer-to-peer networking has existed for years. The IP routing structure of the Internet is still peer-to-peer, albeit with several layers of hierarchy, and individual routers act as peers in finding the best route from one point on the net to another[4]. However, it is only recently, with the development applications that utilize P2P to create vast stores of media files, that it has become immensely popular. While these applications only account for a fraction of peer-to-peer networking's uses, they have received the majority of the attention.
Apache Hadoop is one of the solutions; it is an open-source software framework for storage and large scale processing of data-sets on clusters of commodity hardware [3]. Also, Apache Hadoop is a scalable fault-tolerant distributed system for data storage and processing. The core of Hadoop has ...
The cloud storage services are important as it provides a lot of benefits to the healthcare industry. The healthcare data is often doubling each and every year and consequently this means that the industry has to invest in hardware equipment tweak databases as well as servers that are required to store large amounts of data (Blobel, 19). It is imperative to understand that with a properly implemented a cloud storage system, and hospitals can be able to establish a network that can process tasks quickly with...
Cloud is the result of a decade research in the field of distributing computing , utility computing, virtualization , grid computing and more recently software, network services and web technology which is changeable evolution on demanding technology and services also as looking to the rapid growth of cloud computing which have changed the global computing infrastructure as well as the concept of computing resources toward cloud infrastructure. The important and interest of cloud computing increasing day by day and this technology receives more and more attention in the world (Jain, 2014) the mostly widely used definition of cloud computing is introduced by NIST “as a model for enabling a convenient on demand network access
To reduce the number of probed hosts and consequently reduce the overall search load, it has been proposed to replicate data on several hosts [67]. The location and the number of replica vary in different replication strategies. Thampi et al mention in [41] that there are three main site selection policies. Owner replication in which the object is replicated on the requesting node and the number of replica increases proportional to popularity of the file. Random replication in which replications are distributed randomly and the path replication in which the requested file is copied on all nodes on the path between the requesting node and source.
GFS aims at reducing real-time to big batch operations and HDFS aims at development of real secondary namenode – Facebook’s Avatar node.
Peer-to-peer is a communications model in which each party has the same capabilities and either party can initiate a communication session. Other models with which it might be contrasted include the client/server model and the master/slave model. In some cases, peer-to-peer communications is implemented by giving each communication node both server and client capabilities. In recent usage, peer-to-peer has come to describe applications in which users can use the Internet to exchange files with each other directly or through a mediating server.
When designing networked applications one key protocol stands out as the foundation for making it possible. That protocol is TCP/IP. There are many protocols out there that allow two applications to communicate. What makes TCP/IP a nice protocol is that it allows applications on two physically separate computers to talk. What makes TCP/IP great is that it can do with two computers across a room or across the world. In this paper I will show you how TCP/IP allows a wide array of computer hardware to work together without ever having to knowing what the other machine is or how it even works. At the same time you will learn how it allows information to find its way around the world in a faction of a second without knowing in advance how to get there.
Personal cloud storage (PCS) is an a web service of online that provides server space for individuals to store others files, data, video and photos. It is a content of digital sources and services which are accessible from any device. The personal cloud is not a tangible entity. It is a place which gives users the ability to store, synchronize, stream and share content on a relative core, moving from one platform, screen and location to another. Created on connected services and applications, it reflects and sets consumer expectation for how next-generation computing services will work. There are four primary types of personal cloud that has been used today like Online cloud, NAS device cloud, server device cloud, and home-made clouds. [1]
Peer-to-peer (P2P) is a substitute network design to the conventional client-server architecture. P2P networks utilize a decentralised model in which each system, act as a peer, and serve as a client with its own layer of server functionality. A companion plays the role of a client and a server in the meantime. That is, the node can send calls to other nodes, and at the same time respond to approaching calls from other companions in the system. It is different from the traditional client-server model where a client can just send requests to a server and then wait for the server’s response.

On the other hand, if you'd like to use your cloud storage for files that are hundreds of megabytes or even gigabytes in size, it's quite troublesome to download that huge file and share it to others. They may have very slow connection, which makes it quite impractical to download such huge files. You'll be better off burning those files onto a DVD or copy them to a portable hard drive or even USB flash drives. From here on, we'll just have to wait and see. Who knows? As internet connections become faster and faster and as more companies offer cloud storage service, we may see huge improvements in the future.
...s (floppy disks for example) are emulated, bit-streams (the actual files stored in the disks) are preserved and operating systems are emulated as a virtual machine. Only where the meaning and content of digital media and information systems are well understood is migration possible, as is the case for office documents.[19][20][21] However, at least one organization, the WiderNet Project, has created an offline digital library, the eGranary, by reproducing materials on a 4 TB hard drive. Instead of a bit-stream environment, the digital library contains a built-in proxy server and search engine so the digital materials can be accessed using an Internet browser.[22] Also, the materials are not preserved for the future. The eGranary is intended for use in places or situations where Internet connectivity is very slow, non-existent, unreliable, unsuitable or too expensive.
