Tuberculosis
Hepatitis, flu, herpes, c-diff, HIV, and many more are considered infectious diseases where throughout our lifetime we will contract many of them. One of these diseases is in one third of Earth’s human population and in the future, could be in you. Tuberculosis is an airborne disease transmitted through air either by coughing, sneezing, laughing or just about any other way when you open your mouth to do something. With all diseases come symptoms, treatments, medications, transmission routes, and disease history and outcome.

If your doctor advises you that you are positive with latent TB, your doctor may recommend you to take medications to reduce your risk of developing active tuberculosis. The only type of tuberculosis that is contagious is the “active variety” when it affects the lungs and they can be stressed enough to stop working properly. If you can prevent your tuberculosis from becoming active, you can stop the flow of transmission to other people. Ways to protect your family and friends by staying inside don’t go to school or work or anything. Make sure to have ventilation in the room, tuberculosis germs spread easier in small condensed rooms where air doesn 't move as much. Make sure to always have an open window to blow the germs and other mechanisms outside. Make sure you always cover your mouth, when you laugh, sneeze, or cough. The proper procedure is to put any dirty tissues in a bag, tighten the bag and remove it from the house “throw it away”. Another important thing is to wear a mask during the first three weeks of treatment, to lessen the risk of transmission. While you are taking your medications, make sure you finish all of your medication! As the infection spreads to the lungs, it causes a cough and fluid between the chest wall and lungs, which leads to chest pains, severe shortness of breath, and potential heart failure. TB also infects bones and joints that can produce arthritis like pain and characteristic bone damage. Another possibility is that it may affect the fluid around the brain, causing meningitis, which can lead to fever, drowsiness, and eventually coma and death (Wingerson, 2009).
A prokaryote is a basic unicellular cell typically chracterized by having no defined nucleus. Examples of prokaryotes are typically given as orgamins that belong to the Bacteria and Archaea domains (Campbell 13). Tuberculosis has plagued mankind for a long time. This disease, which was previously believed to be eradicated, has once again shown up and begun attacking the lives of many humans. Tuberculosis infects a third of the population and kills a fraction of them. Many approaches have been used including different varieties of infection control, bodily defenses, and treatments to try to protect humans from tuberculosis. The best way to prevent tuberculosis infections is to contain the source of tuberculosis. The most common source of tuberculosis infection is from infected humans. By diagnosing, containing, and treating people with latent tuberculosis before they get active, contagious tuberculosis, tuberculosis can be quickly contained. Once someone has been diagnosed with TB, they should be placed under isolation.
