Supervisor in Construction: The Safety at the Work Zone

Supervisor is an “individual that have an authority, in the interest of the employer, to hire, transfer, suspend, lay off, promote, discharge, assign, reward, or discipline other employees, or the responsibility to direct them, or adjust their grievance, or effectively to recommend such action, if in connection with foregoing the exercise of such authority is not of a merely routine or clerical nature, but required the use of independent judgment.” Supervisors are responsible for safety and health of their employees. They protect, themselves, and employees form fatal injuries. Don’t matter what kind of business you are in, things can happen without your control. For construction supervisors the chance a worker get hurt or worse die are higher because of the equipment and the environment. Construction supervisors is important because they help to cut back fatal injuries, stop supervisors from replacing injured employees, and keep the business working effectively. Many ways that it can make the construction site less danger such as improve safety, identify hazards, train the coworkers, communication, and make a safe work zone.

The bureau labor statistics reported that in 2010 there were 4,547 work related fatalities in construction; it is 16.5 percent of fatalities injuries happen each year. This area can be improved by requiring certification that ensuring they have the technical knowledge and broad experience. Safety is not a joke especially for construction workers there life depend on it. Supervisors is so important they have to pick the personnel to do their job and fellow rules and procedures.
