Ralph, Jack and Piggy, despite their age, all represent the psychoanalytical traits: id, ego and superego. The Id imposes its impulses, the superego acts according to society and the ego deals with both of them. Jack is the id, Piggy the superego and Ralph the ego. The boys actions throughout the book conduct what they do and how they do show themselves as the id, ego and superego. While Jack contributes his impulses and Piggy nags on Ralph with constant orders, Ralph remains in the middle of both of them; he’s trying to do what Piggy tells him whiling attempting to control Jack. No surprise on how it is all very similarly to the psychoanalytical theory, in addition to their evolution of their new identities and using defense mechanisms
“The Minefield” by Diane Thiel is a poem about a man who grew up during a war and the impact that this man’s experience had on his behavior and on his family. He lost his friend in a tragic accident in a minefield when they were fleeing during the war, and holds onto that memory throughout his life. This memory causes him to be angry and have unpredictable behavior. Because he is impacted by this memory in the ways that he is, his experience affects his children nearly as much as it affects him. Thiel uses structure and characterization in the poem to show the readers how one experience influenced not only one man’s entire life, but also the lives of his family.

Juvenile delinquency remains a serious problem in Canada. There were more than 52,900 cases completed in youth court in 2010/2011 in which over 15,000 of them were violent offenses. However, it is estimated that this issue may be much larger than arrests show because only about half of all crimes involving juveniles are even reported. The property crime rate ranges from 3,909 to 3,155 per 100,000 and violent crime rate ranges from 1,944 to 1,838 per 100,000. In order to create interventions to assist at-risk youth, prevent them from beginning on the path of delinquency, or assist in corrective programs to encourage good behavior among the juvenile criminal population, professionals in the juvenile justice system must attain a better understanding of the causal factors that underlie delinquent behavior. A theory is an explanation that makes a systematic and logical argument about what is important and why. Delinquency or delinquents refers to a person who commits a felony or is involved in illegal activity. This study seeks to determine which, among the numerous explanations for juvenile crime, are the most rampant causes among the criminal population that induce the inclination in criminal behavior. This study will cover origin of the behaviour problems that include biological, psychological and sociological relations that may factors as to why youth become delinquents. Something new and awkward was happening to me taking all my attention. Nevertheless, I tried hard to comfort myself by forcing in a simple sense that it will be all right. But, I couldn’t resist the undeniable feeling of my universe squeezing too much. A feeling that went for so long that I couldn’t remember what came before. A dreadful feeling that was continuously fed with an alarming wish to escape consuming my resistance and leaving me completely exhausted. I didn’t want to surrender, in a final attempt I kicked my legs out straight but nothing happened. I tried to stretch out, to escape to make the suffering stop and merge again with the universe I used to know.“Please stop!”, I closed my eyes firmly yet no sound came out. Juvenile delinquency seems to be a huge factor in today’s society. Many of the youths that commit crimes are “at-risk”. At-risk is a term frequently used to describe children. The term really has no definitive answer to what at-risk is, other than a child who faces a much higher risk than other children. This could be in the form of abuse, being disabled, or even having a low self-esteem (Moore, 2006). Being at-risk may have some repercussions and may cause the individual to commit crimes, this is not a fact, but rather a probability.
